Studio 397 have deployed yet another update to the current DX11 build of rFactor 2 on Steam, addressing a number of areas of the simulation as development continues.

Since releasing the recent DX11 beta build of the title Studio 397 have continued to work behind the scenes to bring regular updates to the simulation, addressing several areas of the software that require the most immediate attention whilst looking to build the groundwork required for the future development direction of the title.

Now running with the possibility to use both the original DX9 and new DX11 build, plus the added support for Virtual Reality, Studio 397 and rFactor 2 continue to work towards bringing the simulation back up to a level where it can compete alongside its sim racing rivals. With a brand new User Interface under development prior to public release, and a much more developed focus towards eSports and ranking multiplayer in the works for future builds, the development of rFactor 2 continues to make substantial strides forward in recent months.

To support the continual push to improve the simulation Studio 397 have deployed the latest build release, of which the changelog can be seen below:
  • Fixed excessive marble build up on some tracks.
  • Fixed UI and HUD colors reversed on some elements.
  • Fixed VR issue where clouds were clipping over the horizon.
  • Switched rFactor 2 screenshot function to Steam screenshot.
  • Fixed Gmotor 2.5 scene viewer showing all stages of real road at the same time.
  • Fixed CTRL+C (CPU/GPU usage chart) being only visible with driver name tags. ON.
  • Fixed Dev Mode Launcher ‘Video Settings’ button not properly saving.
  • Fixed a sporadic issue where changing graphics settings would cause black areas to appear around the car body.
  • Updated Fanatec SDK: Added native support for LEDs and gear shift indicators.

rFactor 2 is a PC exclusive racing simulation by Studio 397. Available to purchase from the Steam network, the game regularly receives updates and enhancements as the Dutch studio look to breathe new life into one of sim racings best titles.

Yeah i dont think shots like this do any favours for S397 or rF2 at all. I really wish people would stop posting such bad shots and could only imagine S397's stand point on it.
well thats the only shot i have of dx11 content but with no dx11 i have a few :whistling:

Have to agree with everyone on the ctrl+space to reset view nonesense.

Just by definition - holding ctrl + space resets the VR view to where your headset is WHEN YOU PRESS CTRL+SPACE!!

Fine if you drive using ctrl+space, bad if you use a wheel.

I've been racing in rfactor 2 quite a bit recently and have to say both the DX11 and the VR implementation is coming along really nicely.
I too picked up a brand new boxed DK2 for £99 on ebay and was very pleasantly suprised at just how well my PC runs it. - FX8350 RX480 8GB 16GB DDR3.
Turns out you don't need a monster PC for VR at all for a really good experience !

Have you read my suggestions? posted twice in this thread already...I won't repeat a 3rd time :)

I suppose it all comes down to game settings albeit the 480 is no slouch

I'm thoroughly chuffed at the experience for £99! I defo cannot justify the premium the Cv or Hive have to offer; I would rather an additional monitor.

Had a go at this yesterday and was underwhelmed.

Couldn't get it to launch for half an hour - I'm used to having to run StesmVR before I run the game but it seems that the game will no longer launch if I open SteamVR first, it just freezes.

So I tried running without launching SteamVR first and the ffb doesn't feel right. Very light. I could tell it was there when going over bumps, but not when turning.

I'll wait for another update.
