I heard rumors you want to suspend him from commentating. The point is, that you waste your time with completly useless things like this thread. Instead of updating the standings on the homepage, put in all the Ace and Pro Race reviews, look for volunteers, going through all the sim racing communitys and making ads to get a full WC grid at least.
I can understand if somebody have not enough time for some volunteer job. But I prefer to quit the job if I cant do it right and with 100% power because there is somewhere someone, who can do it with more time and full power. You`re only blocking the job as president for someone who would get things done and maybe have more time for this job than you.
You have some points but I wanna throw my 2 cents in.
You believe FSR community should maintain its right to "freedom of speech", which put in practice in this micro-community means belittling, trolling and getting angry at those who do not meet the high standards.
Look at vladimir's case and point in the last race. New blood for the league, sure the guy may have been ambitious in joining WC with maybe 2 weeks of practice, and yes he didn't have the greatest first race, but you guys(and I'm not singling you out here) basically set him up for failure with your comments as if anything but P1 would have been validation that he wasn't ready, then when he makes a mistake you shame him. With that kind of attitude to failure why would anyone take a risk trying this league? As much as you need experienced quality racers at the top you need an influx of new racers to gradually work their way up the leagues, otherwise slowly but surely this league will fold up and go the way of the Mohicans. Fixing the elitism here is one of the first steps.
Hell as a newb to FSR last year I had people like you Georg and many others ignore basic questions about rf2 setup and physics because "why would you help the competition". How is helping someone with a basic question like "does higher engine brake map mean more engine braking or less" when they are 5-6 seconds off the pace helping the competition? I may not be the fastest racer or best at setup but when an absolute noob comes into the server and asks for a set il atleast send him one and answer any questions I can, because one day that person may up their pace and join the league rather than get frustrated at endlessly lapping trying to learn and having no one there to give supportive tips or just to be nice.
I don't really have much of a stake in the future of this league as maybe some of you do but at the moment it does offer the best physical driving experience and simulation of a real race event; however can you really argue that FSR is the pinnacle of sim racing as it was 4-5 years ago?
