good races last night.
race 1 : i found the escort surprsingly fun to drive. at the qualy steven was faster and gary as allways very good. at race start i got a good start and decided to stay close to gary and steven. i was expecting the fight with gary and wanted to "get him back"after the last time he won with the healy while i was with the vette:). afer that previous race i decided that i need to practice on being fast in the last laps and save my tires.back to the race: at lap 2 i think gary lost it and then the battle was bewewen steven and me. steven drove realy well and i managed to keep his pace while going about a second faster then my qualy time. he didn't do a single mistake and i followed him real close while saving the tyres. at about lap 10 i started to presure steven more and got very close. then steven outbroke into one of the corners i also broke very late but luckily manged to stay on the track. now i was 1st and" lucky gary" was about 2 seconds behind as alaways pushing me hard. this time i was ready and made up my mind not to do stupid mistakes like in the previous races. i made it to the finish line 1st and was very happy with that. i felt disappointed for steven because i wanthed the race to last till the end. next time steven:)

second race in the bemmer. had a good start climbed up to 7th i think and was looking fwd to join carlos knut and stuart who were having a good battle. then gary spun his porche and with no where to go i got hit by his car spun and hit neil and steven. sorry for that guys i had no control. then neil and i had a good fight to the end. i never raced against neil before apart maye in a race in gtre. he drove realy well and we had a very close and fair fight to the finish. i coulnt pass him and he controled the car very well.
grats for bob for his first win and thx for everyone who showed up. gtl is just getting better by every race.

Another good event, even if I do say so myself.

Race 1

Limited (no) practice time in the Skyline, so I was busking it a bit, but worked out OK. Got a few decent and consistent laps in and kind of broke away slightly from the pack behind, and was tiny slower than the pack in front, so ended up a little lonely, but round Lime Rock Mt, the time just seems to evaporate because it's such a blinding track to run on. Each lap, even though I could see it on the timings, simply doesn't feel like nearly two minutes. Over TS, I suddenly heard a yowl like a Russian Timberwolf who's just seen his evening meal of Peasant shin up a tree, and knew that Steve had had a bit of a mare, and thrown away a win, but it was only when I glanced at the lap counter that I realised that the race was prety much over.

Race 2

Again the Opel wasn't overly familiar, but I knew it better than the screaming Nissan. This was an absolute joy to drive, even if it was just off the pace of the Escorts overall. After a slightly bodged quali, I had an absolute hoot in a right old ding dong with Phil in the Escort & Carlos in the other Opel - getting in front, making a mistake just long enough for them to get back past, regrouping and catching up again, about 6 or so laps of nose to tail goodness, great stuff chaps.
After getting my nose in front, those two rejoined battle and allowed me to get a little breathing room while they concentrated on each other, and so I brought it home for a 3rd behind the Hutchinator & Warren in their Escorts.

A fitting finale to the 72's - a very, very good and well balanced car set.

I hope to see you all next week for the new series that's starting, some low powered, twisty turny, short course action as the Elites roll into town.

What can I say, I love these cars. I am saddened that it's over:frown:.

Race1)I started out chasing Warren but I went to go play in the sand for a bit and fell back two places. Soon after I found myself having an extremely hard time getting by Roman who was doing an amazing job of defending his position. After I got past him, I found myself all alone for the rest of the race. I had never really driven the Capri 2600 for more than 2 or 3 laps at a time, I really liked it.

Race2) The Opel 1900 GT is just amazing. Easy to drive and fast as hell, would make a great car to have a single make league with. I had loads of fun with Stu and Phil. BTW Phil, you too are just about impossible to pass lol. I had to get brave and pass you on the outside of the downhill right hander, I thought I was going to end up in a tree lol. Then I was hopelessly chasing Stu, who was just NOT making any mistakes. Until the very end, where he messed up just enough for me to close the gap, but nothing else. Great driving Thommo.

Also, I made a few screenies using an HDR filter in PS of race1. You can check them out HERE.

It was a very exciting race!

R1 BMW: Not very good start I tried to keep up with Manuel, I was faster in corners, bit his acceleration and straight topspeed was lightyears away from me.
Then I made up some places due to others misfortunes. A pack of drivers caught me there was Neil and Carlos. First Neil tried to take me over I defended my position with all my strength, suddenly under the bridge Neil who was directly behind me spun and hited wall - hope it wasn't my fault.
Then I had a really big battle with Carlos - it was nice piece of Fight - THX Carlos. Finally Carlos made it and disappeared behind next corner. I tried to check how many laps are to go and I missed braking point, payed a visit to gravel.
Then Manuel caught me and we hade another piece of fighting, showing beautifully advantage of Vette and BMW. Finished 12th, but I was feeling like a winner :)

R2: Should be Escort, but I always was in BMW, rebboting and exiting server didn't help. Couldn't erase BMW because others were using it. I got approval of all participants and took BMW. But my misfortune showed up again, after 4 corners I was sent back to SF line with engine off and then after 4 laps of lonely driving I was sent of to pits without chance of rejoining.

Great event, good car/track combination :)
