Apologies if this is the wrong place but I'd like to see some newer tracks used. Adelaide and Bathurst just came out for example. South Shore hasn't been used yet I think.

Nothing specifically wrong with the chosen tracks :) This is just a personal opinion and request but it gets a bit boring racing the same old tracks everywhere and lately there's been quite a bit of new options in that front :)

Just posted this in the news post about the upcoming release of Bathurst. Now that it, and a number of other track mods have been released, keep your eyes peeled for new events on a fresh set of tracks in the coming weeks.

Unfortunately I haven't been keeping my eye on the new releases in the ISI forums, and wasn't aware what was coming up before I had already organised this event, as I have been incredibly busy. So no need to worry - I completely understand what you mean, and will get it sorted.

Is there a car in this group that feels like it has the new contact patch model? I tried the Audi other day, and it had that old iRacing style tyre feel to it which I don't care about (hard to put it into words). Not only that, the car felt very lifeless and stiff, no matter how soft I tuned it. Any recommendations?

Haven't tried that car but as a former long time iRacer I find it a bit hard to believe it was that bad :D Anyway, at least the BES Z4 isn't like that. In fact it feels somewhat soft compared to how stiff it's supposed to be. Also the ISI cars (GTR, Vette and Camaro) are good.

Most of my "extensive experience" with these cars is limited to the Z4 and Vette as I've done one of these GT3 races in the Z4 and three in the Vette.

I tested the updated Vette (1.62) and couldn't really feel that much of a difference compared to the previous version (1.49) if I'm honest. I mean I find it feels tiny bit better but nothing revolutionary. At least based on quick testing in the dry on two tracks. The thing is though that you can only "see" so much after quick tests/comparisons.

I'm nervously concidering to perhaps join my first ever on-line racing on friday. Have one question though and it's about how the chat acually works. Do I need a headset with microphone to participate?

I also wonder if it's possible to somehow attend the this weeks race on wednesday as a spectator/bystander, only for the purpose go get acquainted with the situation.

No need to be in voice chat (TeamSpeak) to participate. I tend not to. I'm too easily distracted I guess :D All the communication you should need to see and use is the in-game chat.

The other question is for the staff or someone more knowledgeable to answer.

Hope you decide to join on Friday :)

Hi Stenne,

I would be great if you joined! No need to be nervous! ;) We're all friendly, and there's no pressure - it's only a club race.

Regarding your first question, the answer to that is no, you do not need a headset with a microphone. This is only necessary if you would like to join TeamSpeak to chat with other drivers. You can still use TS without a microphone, and just listen in. As for any important information, this will be displayed in the in-game text chat area, so you won't miss anything even if you decide not to use TS. As Tero has said, a number of people prefer not to use TS because they see it as a distraction, but I personally enjoy having a chat, as well as learning from and helping out others where I can.

As for your second question, this also wouldn't be a problem. However, there are only a few people signed up so it might be a good opportunity for you to do some driving instead as practise and to gain confidence. :)

The 24h Nordschleife Corvette has the new Contact Patch Model all other cars are on the old one, which doesnt have to be such a bad thing e.g. with the Apex Mod I reverted to the old tire model for the moment as they officially confirmed that the new tires are a bit broken.

Thanks for the info! I might try the Vette next then, although pretty happy with the Z4 atm.
