BAR keeps Andy Black for 2002

- who has the most dnfs, and how much?
Ben Utzer with 62. Old Wolf follows in 2nd with 61.

- which season had the most/fewest dnfs, and how much?
most: 1992 with 127
fewest: 1999 with 80

- who has the highest dnf percentage (at least 50 races)?
Cristiano Mauri with 39%, retired in 33 of 84 races. Though Ron Squire would've beaten him easily if he had 6 races more, 50% with 22 dnfs in 44 races.

- who has the lowest dnf percentage (at least 50 races)?
James McNamara with 18%, retired in 18 of 99 races. He's the only driver with +50 races and less than 20%.

- how many drivers managed to have no dnf an entire season (participating in all races)?
0. There are a couple of drivers with 1 dnf participating in all races of a season. Even if you take drivers who didn't start in all races, there's only 1 who didn't retire: Fred Owen in 1991, participating in the first 8 races of the season, finishing all of them.

while we're waiting for the final offers to be accepted/rejected/sent out, team reviews!

Jordan
Not much that could stop Jack Hunsley taking his 3rd title, with an impressive run of only top 4 finishes from round 4 to round 17. Also he's the first driver to win the title after winning the season opener. Reliability issues were rare, if they happened they mostly hit Kederer, who managed 2 wins compared to Hunsley's 6. The team also won the constructors title, and will keep their line-up for next season.

Sauber
Milos Ancevski was the only one to give Hunsley a challenge, but his 5 wins weren’t enough in the end. His 75 points would have been enough in most seasons between '88 and '00, making him the 2nd best 2nd placed in the standings. Despite scoring the first points of the season for the team Harvey was nowhere near his teammate. He did the main work testing new parts rather than doing setup work in the practice sessions. Ancevski will stay at Sauber, while Harvey, who joins Jaguar, will be replaced by Diehl.

Minardi
Two wins for the Italian outfit were probably far beyond their expectations. Goddard added a second place to his win, while Diehl was to be found in the points regularly, granting him 5th in the standings. Goddard's contract can meanwhile be described as lifetime, he'll be joined by Rinneaho for next season.

Jaguar
Engberink scored 2 wins for the team, his first since his debut season. 2 more 2nd places granted him 4th in the standings. Rinneaho scored his first points in F1, among them 2 podium finishes. The team suffered a couple of reliability issues throughout the season, preventing them of more top results. Rather surprisingly both drivers leave the team, Engberink signed for Renault, who were mostly found at the back end of the field this season as Benetton, while Rinneaho joins Minardi.

Williams
Reliability issues hurt the development of the car, and often prevented Utzer and Buurlage from taking better results. 5th in the constructors standings doesn't really reflect their actual pace. Buurlage leaves the team after 2 years to join Ferrari, while Utzer stays onboard for his 4th season with the team. Wayfaring man Laad returns to the team after only 1 year at Ferrari.

BAR
The team improved a lot compared to last season, especially in the second half of the season they had an impressive race pace. Each driver scored one podium, it could've been even more but they were hit by problems a few times when running high up the order. Black stays with the team, while Ishikawa's future is still uncertain.

McLaren
Hunsley's '96 pole record seemed to be for eternity, but McLaren managed to top it. 9 pole positions resulted in 2 single points, 4 front row lockouts didn't earn them any points at all. Keranen outscored Foro despite the German's better quali pace, and will stay for another year. There've been no words yet on whether Foro will be kept.

Ferrari
The situation was similar to last season, appalling qualifying performances ruining their chances in the races. Laad led the team, but leaves after only 1 year to return to Williams. Yamaguchi in the second seat started decent, but lack of commitment saw him being dropped for Costello in the second half of the season. Buurlage will take Laad's seat, while the second seat is yet to be filled.

Prost
The team couldn't repeat the results of last year, Wolf managed to score 7 points but was often hit by reliability issues. He quit F1 after round 13, Noack replaced him returning after over 3 years. Sigoulakis finished most races, but only 2 of them in the points in the second half of the season. The team no longer has the money to afford running in F1, their place will be taken by Toyota.

Benetton
Lintner scored the only points for the team, which will be taken over by Renault next season. The car lacked pace until late season, which allowed Lintner 3 points results in a row. Graham still waits for his first points in F1, and seems unlikely to return in 2002. Renault keeps Lintner, and signed Engberink from Jaguar.

Arrows
Martins couldn't carry the team as he did in 2000, no points for the former champion as he often ran in problems when running in promising positions. Brugman scored the only points with a 4th place in Imola, but will leave the team. Martins will stay, but so far Arrows didn't sign a second driver. There have been rumours that Omer Said might return.
