Williams?

That brings a smile to my face, since it is the team that I support. I thought that Senna's death and further trial... would invalidate that.

I also believe that applies to Sauber aswel, no? they seem clean.

If you ask me i would say Senna knew the risks of being an F1 driver.
The fact that he died of a freak-accident makes it very sad considering what kind of driver and person he was.
He was a truly special person but i don´t think it´s fair to say that Williams killed him.

Had he ran in the time of Fangio he would probably have died much earlier in his career due to his nature of being an F1 driver.
Always going that extra mile that any other driver would not do.

Well i guess like you mentioned Sauber and Williams are probably the "blue-collar-teams" that have the most respect but you can´t deny Ferrari which has been through everything, good and bad..
It´s a very noble thing when you think about it.

Some interesting numbers on Red Bull Racing, Scuderia Ferrari and Mclaren Mercedes.
More specifically the "strike-rate" meaning how successful the teams are in terms of winning races and not championships.

Red Bull Racing has been around as a true team since 2005.
They have done 126 GP´s and have won 27 of those.

That equates to a win every 4th Grand Prix. (4.6)

Mclaren Mercedes has been around since 1966.
They have done 703 GP´s and have won 175 of those.

That also equates to a win every 4th Grand Prix. (4.3)

Ferrari has been around since the very start of Formula 1 (minus one race), 1950.
They have done 832 GP´s and have won 216 of those.

That equates to a win every third race. (3.8)

I actually thought that Mclaren was the team that was the most succesful team in terms of amount of wins compared to amount of races taken part in.
To my surprise Ferrari is at the helm of that as well.

If we count Driver Championships we get these numbers.

RBR - 7 years - 2 championships = Every 3.5 years RBR wins one championship.

Mclaren - 45 years - 12 championships = Every 3.75 years Mclaren wins one championship.

Ferrari - 61 years - 15 championships = Every 4 years Ferrari wins one championship.

RBR - 7 years - 2 championships = Every 3.5 years.

Mclaren - 45 years - 8 championships = Every 5.6 years.

RBR - 126 races - 38 poles = Every 3.3 races.

Just thought of something...

Apart from Ferrari and Toyota, what other teams have built their car all by themselves?
Ferrari & Toyota built everything in-house. Well apart from the now ECU which is from Mclaren but that is because the rules state it.

Chassis, Gearbox, Engine, KERS etc all were in house. What other teams in history has done that? And what other teams apart from Ferrari has been successful?

EDIT: I should slap myself.... BMW must be one of those. Anymore?

I guess a race win would be considered semi-successful in F1. But then we can count out Toyota as well
