For the "Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor 2010" you need to open the second of the attached files - "bk_ford_crown_vic_10_stock_police.zip.txt" with "7-Zip File Manager". Then drag the two folders from the archive into the "..\content\cars\bk_ford_crown_vic_10_stock_police\" and confirm the replace.

with the right man and a answer that i understood, perfect. many thx, the interceptor drives now. but the best is the ai-s210 with lights and sound. for srp the best, thank u.

I like the car despite the faults in physics and the 3D model being twice heavier than the Kunos' recommendation and no lods, and the wrong collider. I can deal with all that by myself later. Here's the zipped config for the lights on the AI "crown_s210_police" and a replacement for the sfx GUID if you like the siren audible on the AI cars too. Included the originals for backup. As usual - open the attached with 7-Zip.
Any chance I can get a simple write up with where to put these files in WHICH or WHAT directories? I am not good at coding, and want police cars for some photo stuff. Thank you in advance, I've seen videos of what you got working, but I can't get it myself.
 
Open the attached with 7z and find the "ext_config.ini" for the two cars. Or if you mean the siren to be always on - for AWD replace all in "..\content\cars\bk_dodge_charger_2019_police_v8_awd\sfx\GUIDs.txt" with:

Is there a way to activate emergency lights when I reach a certain distance? Or would that be caused by every traffic car passing by it. It being on constantly kinda breaks my immersion when speeding down the highway haha

There`s no trigger for counting the big distance between cars. There`s a trigger for changing to smaller lods if the police car has some. So that is one way to cause the lights to come off when the police is at a distance. It requires editing the model of the lod to rename the mesh that is illuminated. Then in the config the parameter "FADE_AT=2000" of each cone light should also be changed to the value of the distance that is the trigger for the lod. The result is "police comes closer and lights start flashing, police goes away and lights stop flashing". The opposite is not doable.

Thanks for the reply! I was thinking the same thing. I'm gunna try to experiment around with the code and report back my results.
 
My bad man I meant to say the blinkers(lights) not the sirens(audio) lol. For the sirens(audio) im using a mod posted by another user here which works perfect with the car mod you linked incase you're wondering. I tested your fix for the lights and its working brilliant! exactly what Ive been looking for. I did run into one issue however with the lights not being visible whilst in cockpit/VR view if you know of a fix but they're working perfect in thirdperson view(I made a video clip here: https://streamable.com/qn9bpx). Btw thank you I'm one step closer to getting that fast and furious feel haha. Also, do you have a link for the ford crown vic police vehicle too by any chance or is that still a work in progress?

I really want to work lights on my police cars but I have no idea how get this to work, I am too confused and overloaded by the examples and advices, can somebody or alekabul help with an easy instruction for the lights and maybe the sirene?

Hi Nidrugs,
Sounds like you are in a hurry and that is the thing which stops you from doing the modding. To combat that feeling I'm attaching a file that has two links for cars that are ready for use (lights working). When you feel the sense of urgency subside you can start comparing the contents of "ext_config.ini" from the ready cars with the other police cars that you may prefer and understand the idea after reading the main post in this thread *which came later in the development and is not the first. The gist with the lights on AI is that "[EMISSIVE_RPM_...]" is used in place of "[EMISSIVE_EXTRA_A_...]" or whatever "extra" corresponds to the lights switch.

The gist with the siren sounds was described before. The fastest and simplest thing is to use .wav sound file played in a loop in some player outside AC. "Alt+Tab" to jump between the game and player to stop the siren when you can't stand it anymore. ;)

It is not meant for the beginner modders. If you can't understand the concept of using the CSP config code then it's safer to not mess about. That's why I left it like that. On second thought I may edit the first post with a link to the most important part although reading the whole thread of 4 pages will also help.

I'm an experienced modder, recognized author on Steam and Nexus - I agree with the guy above imo. What I see is your reporting of experiment, but not actually what you did. Now I have to analyze this whole thread to figure out what's actually going on.

Experienced or not, a simple 1-2-3 Step-guide can be followed by anyone.

If you take a quick look at my threads on RD you'll find that I am in fact a supporter of the same philosophy. Why I made this thread an exception is because if I were to try a simple 1-2-3 Step-guide on this it nonetheless would have ended up filled with so many remarks that amount to a read of the whole thread. So I still am convinced that the lights will work for those who try hard and will not work for the lazy. Don't get me wrong - this is not a name-calling rant.
