Version 1.0 signifies not just the long-term achievement but also a new start. The hugely successful Early Access program is now complete thanks to the contribution of hundreds of thousands of gamers. If you have joined the Early Access program, we are pleased to announce that version 1.0 is available for you as free upgrade.

At the end of 2013 they released multiple polls for users to vote on for the content that they'd like to see in the game. Their official forums provide some of the best developer feedback of any sim on the market, and they're going to continue to add free DLC to the game based on what the users requested via those polls for the next few years.

To accuse Kunos of not listening to their fans is the most absurd statement anyone could make about Assetto Corsa out of all of the utter dross that fills the official forums (and sometimes here too).

Sure the game has it's short comings, but so does every other game, and with time, more and more features will be added to Assetto Corsa.

People just expect instant gratification.

/End Rant.

to tell the truth if there are 10000 players and Kunos needs to listen to 10000 opinions for sure they would have gone crazy and folded. I see that Kunos has done an amazing job at creating this game based on popular votes by the majority and their own vision, it's already an awesome experience.

I didnt state that they are not listening to their fans... i simply said they should listen to me and some other hardcore racers and fix some really important issues,
Tell me something, do you think the AI in assetto is one the short comings,...!!! because i can tell you i only do hot laps so i dont let the AI riun the game!

"People just expect instant gratification." Its been a while since this game is out... so i dont understand the instant part. "This update signifies the end of the Early Access period in which Assetto ..." did i miss something! maybe in early access, but bearly touch another car and the engine gets messed up in a game thats out of early access period i really dont get

Now respectably if you wont to talk me that the AI or the crash modeling/phisics or the sound inside the cars are GOOD, i can prove you wrong because the game just not delivering what i stated... and i didnt ask them to fix this stuff just once and im not the only person who asked the devs to work on it.

big fan of the game, but 1.0 does seem a long way from finished still. they do say it will be continually updated - though some fundamental anomalies remain at this stage
e.g.
ai mass - on contact they annihilate your car as if they are in a truck, then they always carry on as if nothing happened. this problem has been there for 8 months with no improvement yet.
why not allowed to select 1st gear before start of quickrace? surely that can't be hard to fix :/

brilliant game overall though.

I know the ai is fustrating like that but I think it stops people racing dirty for the achievements on steam? Just a theory.

And the fist gear thing is there because they have yet to implement a penalty for a false start?

Great, this is the most awesome racer ever in my opinion, only ever play it with 3D vision, does any one else play in 3D? I tried it with 3d off and it's a totally different game look and feel, thank heavens for little 3d kits. If you haven't played this in 3D then you are really missing something spectacular, very much looking forward to consumer Oculus with this game, don't know how it is with the DK2, anyone?

Thanks Kunos for a racing experience like I've never had before.
Merry Christmas to all and here's hoping for a fab new year.
There are quite a few of us using the DK2 in AC and it works great in game although, the menu functionality is little to none right now. The 3D aspect is really great though, best I've experienced to date.

Hows the AI on assetto corsa compared to F1 2014?

Just trying to compare it because ive just bought AC and only played F1 Codemasters series so far against AI. Codies AI is quite horrible, brakes 50m earlier than they should, not overtaking you on the straights, doesnt suffer from tyre wear etc.

So far ive only put few hotlaps on AC and the game looks great, especially the force feedback and the actual feeling of the car.

[...]
One can't really compare the two.
The current iteration of the Codemasters' F1 series seems to be a step back from previous versions and it caters innately to a different audience than Assetto Corsa does. The former is more a 'racing game', the latter a 'driving simulator'.
In F1 2012 values for wing angle and toe had no appreciable effect on handling - in AC, I can read the angle of attack of wings & the diffuser on a car from an app and calculate the total downforce with real life formulas derived from hydrodynamics afterwards.

Remember people, that to properly code/simulate artificial intelligence in a game is one of the most difficult tasks for a developer, especially in a racing game where a very high degree of accuracy and situational awareness in its behavior are required to immitate real world driving as much as possible.
