Who worships who?
iRacing fans worship Empty Box and his propaganda channel.
He claims to be unbiased, but it's pretty blatantly clear he's supported by iRacing. None of his videos are objectively thought out, they're just 20-30 minute videos of him driving and rambling on as to why he doesn't like anything but iRacing.

Dude is a total joke.

Hehe ye, I watched it. He has some points tho, but he is saying some of the best points of AC are actually the worst. I guess they pay him well ^^.

Sometimes I don't agree with his opinion or certain aspects of his cars/games review, but his videos can be entertaining, especially those races with close competition. I don't follow nascar or oval racing, but the videos where he races ovals have been fun so far to watch.

From what I have seen, this guy is pretty sensible. But he does like to provoke a bit with his sense of humour. That might be or might not be one's thing.
Anyway I think he is fairly spot on with his comments about AC 1.0.

My apologies for unintentionally derailing the focus of this thread. It was my sincerest intention to provide this community with an encapsulation of the current state of AC in a video format done, I think, in an entertaining way.

It is disappointing to see a pursuit that we engage in for fun dragged down when disparate viewpoints clash. I can't speak for whatever real or unsubstantiated agendas are ascribed to the creator of this particular piece of content. What I can, and prefer to focus my attention on, is the evaluation of the current state of AC that it puts forth. I concur with it.

And that is as far as it goes. No acquiescence to any supposed deities was given on my part. I watched and agreed with the evaluation. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Hopefully some of you will find the review of value.

@Lou Sytsma
Honestly, I contemplated whether or not to remove this vid to avoid exactly that, but saw the next page, too late.

Everybody is entitled to his/her own opinion, but a piece of media (blog entry, video, etc) posted without context looks rather shady than adding to a discussion.
Something like
"Hey, I saw Emptybox did a AC 1.0 video, he mentioned [...] - what do you think?"
would've been fine.

To think that you would even consider censoring the most watched sim racing commentator tells me a lot about the religious fervency which envelopes the AC community.

Finally having a chance to play the updated AC this past weekend...yeah, yeah, late to the party.

The AC game has really improved a lot with the 1.0RC. The FFB is still the best of the sims (excluding pCARS since I have not played this game). The graphics have improved and at least to my eyes are more crisp, clean and better direct lighting.

Well done Kunos Simulazioni (sp)
:)

If you are putting the label of religious fervency surrounding AC then the communities surrounding rFactor2 and pCARS are comprised of strictly hardcore fascists! those members will tear you limb from limb for even looking the wrong way at those two games!

No need to apologise for posting a video that is perfectly on topic and speaks the mind of many of us, it doesn't have to please everybody.
Yeah, he likes iRacing, what's the deal, if he was on their payroll he wouldn't be praising GSCE's or rF2's physics in many of his vids. I'm not an iRacing fan but i can see why people like it.

I agree with almost everything he said there and i also think Kunos is going into the right direction with the new tires. If we say AC has too much grip we get accused of basing our knowledge on outdated sims. If Kunos sees it the same way and reduces grip, it's the next best thing ever and they nailed it again :D.
Yep, every sim has their "religious" followers and that whole AC situations gives me deja-vu's from GTPlanet discussions almost 10 years ago.

Merry Christmas to all you simracing nuns & monks ;).

I have been watching his vids for some time and I have never gotten the vibe that he likes iRacing *as a game* as much he seems to like the *racing* at iRacing, but in many videos he seems to find plenty of faults with it in terms of FFB etc. etc. he also seems to really like only *some* cars in rF2, not all, he seems to like GCSE mostly for offline/AI, and in the video linked (as well as in his previous ones) he sure had several complimentary things to say about AC as well.

He's just a guy with his likes/dislikes, to which he's entitled to in my opinion without being insulted here just because you don't agree with him. In the end as much as we all have our preferences/favorites we should try to respect others that disagree, especially when they do try to articulate the reasonings behind them and never forgetting that we all race with different wheels/computers/configurations which makes it sometimes difficult to relate to each other (for example in the video he seems now a LOT happier with AC's FFB than he used to be due to the 'minimum ffb' setting that was added).

Everyone has their opinion and they are entitled to it. One opinion doesn't change anything. You either like a game or you don't. I don't see the big deal. lol

No, this has nothing to do with cencorship.
His view count or (supposedly) influence have nothing to do with his video being posted without context. His videos are going to be treated the same as every other guy/girl talking into a microphone while a b-reel of cars going by is rolling.
Normally, videos go into our library anyway - maybe we should enforce this more vigorously.

This is an AC forum and visiters have to endulge a couple of fanboys being around - we don't ban people because of their opinions. Most members here thrive for a balanced viewpoint anyway and certainly staff are expected to engage in an objective manner most of the time.

Now, please stay on topic.
