New Information:
Version 1.0 signifies not just the long-term achievement but also a new start. The hugely successful Early Access program is now complete thanks to the contribution of hundreds of thousands of gamers. If you have joined the Early Access program, we are pleased to announce that version 1.0 is available for you as free upgrade.

With the completion of our version 1.0 milestone, Assetto Corsa is now leaving Early Access status, and is available from Steam right now.

RaceDepartment still has a limited amount of copies left for the early access prize of 34,99 Euro:

The new version includes an extended career with fully blown championship series’, new features, improved gameplay, new sound sets and sound effects, new and improved post-processing effects as well as several optimizations, including some important refinements in the physics department, an updated tyre model and force feedback guaranteeing an even better driving experience. Assetto Corsa 1.0 introduces also the new Alfa Romeo Giulietta 2014 Launch Edition, available as free bonus content and the sought after Ruf Yellowbird which will be available once again as free bonus content by the end of the year; when available, the game will be updated automatically on Steam.

One journey ends, another begins ; version 1.0 by no means indicates the end Assetto Corsa development, on the contrary, this is now just the beginning of a long journey. The development team is already working on new cars, tracks, features and content that will improve the Assetto Corsa experience even more. Don't get me wrong, AC is far from the best or most complete sim on the market (those honors IMO would go to GSCE) but he [Empty Box] often criticizes aspects of it that aren't actually issues at all. Case in point: FFB. Of all the things to take issue with in AC, Force Feedback is not one of them. In fact the FFB is one of the best elements of Assetto Corsa and the new minimum force slider has improved the FFB even more, placing it, IMO, on par with GSCE.

Sure I love AC, and it's my sim of preference (heck, label me a fanboy if you will), but even I know that there are issues with the game that are far more glaring than the FFB model. I.e Server control/functionality, and clutch physics.

A good ol' simracing discussion. This is the real gift this holiday season... Oh and the RUF Yellowbird :D
Merry Christmas everyone. Lol

Assetto Corsa v1.0.1 + RUF CTR YELLOWBIRD AVAILABLE AS GIFT ITEM!
24 DECEMBER - LUCA
The RUF-Automobile license for Assetto Corsa has been announced some time ago, allowing KUNOS Simulazioni to reproduce in its acclaimed racing game some of the most iconic cars of the German Car manufacturer.

KUNOS Simulazioni wishes to thank all Assetto Corsa fans and users with a new update, available as free gift item on Steam: the RUF CTR YELLOWBIRD is available today!

The Ruf CTR (Group C, Turbo Ruf) also known as the CTR Yellowbird or simply Yellowbird, was a limited-production, high performance sports car produced by Ruf Automobile of Germany.
Introduced for the 1987 model year and based on the Porsche 911, the CTR featured an enlarged and highly tuned version of Porsche's 3.2 litre flat-six cylinder engine, lightened body panels, an integrated roll cage (adding chassis stiffness in addition to occupant safety), upgraded suspension and braking systems, a custom-designed transmission, and several unique trim pieces such as polyurethane bumpers, and the use of the fender-mounted oil filter (a Porsche feature for the 1972 MY only) necessitated by relocating the oil tank forward to clear the intercooler on that side.

Developing 469 hp (350 kW) and 408 lb·ft (553 N·m) of torque and weighing in it at only 2,530 pounds (1,147 kg), the CTR provided stellar performance, with a 0-60 mph time of around 4 seconds and a top speed in excess of 200 miles per hour (320 km/h). Although a small group of vehicles such as the Ferrari F40 and Porsche 959 were faster to 60 miles per hour (97 km/h), the Yellowbird could outperform all competition when it came to top speed, topping out at 211 miles per hour (340 km/h), a top speed that made it the fastest sports car in the world at the time of its release.

The car received its nickname, "Yellowbird", during testing by Road & Track magazine, whose staffers noted the contrast created by its yellow paintwork against the overcast skies on the day of their photo shoot.

KUNOS Simulazioni would like to thank all of you for the great support you gave to Assetto Corsa: we hope you enjoy this great new car as well as we enjoyed to reproduce and include it in our game.

Our best regards

The KUNOS Simulazioni development team.

===========================================================================

Just thought i'd let everyone know of the new update with the yellowbird :D awesome car but not sure if anyone else experiences it but during the loading screen no more assetto corsa logo just some numbers and generic italian words also when the yellowbird rolls it looked like there was no gravity and shadows on track stayed as if the car was still on the track hopefully they will resolve this soon :) happy driving

but got t say it's nice of them that they gave us RUF free but i feel they could have improved it a little some mods here look and drive better imo
Idk how much you've played assetto so far, but all cars drive differently.. idk what is this car drives better and that car drives worse means. Because is normal for some cars being built/designed better than others by manufacturers. So yes, the physics in the game from each car will differ.

Is there another Yellowbird mod to compare to?

if you checked me previous messages you would have noticed that there is a glitch with the car meaning when you crash and car starts to roll through the cockpit view the car was practically floating no gravity it just kept spinning in the air rather then spinning and bouncing off the track and the tire shadows stayed in place hence the reason why i gave that kind of opinion there are other mods out there that aren't official that are so much better then this all i'm saying is if your going to release a car make sure there are no very obvious glitches that's all no saying this doesn't mean i don't like the car it's really nice that they gave us the yellow bird for free but still the car doesn't feel in place with the whole game considering the glitch

I wasn't aware of those issues, thanks. Have you reported them to Kunos or is someone else reporting them on the Support Forum?

yes I have reported it but haven't heard anything yet it's really strange as all other cars are normal and watching YouTube videos i haven't seen anyone else with this glitch as of yet so not sure whats going on but other than the issue that i mentioned the car is really good it's just a shame that when i crash the gravitational physics seem non existence

Goes to rF2!

sorry, didn't know this english exam. ;):p
George is more than right, your post is unreadable.

Just for my sanity, I was playing about with some time attack events and I cannot get near to even the slowest time needed (bronze). Have I just lost it or is it because they have changed the tyre model and Kunos have not updated the requirements for each medal? Does anyone know?

The Time Attack events work completely the opposite of any common sense - drive SLOW and you will get gold. Just pass the checkpoints with 4-5s to spare only and keep driving until you pass it. I thought this is a bug but after so many comments on the topic and Kunos not changing it, looks like it was intended this way which is just crazy..

Thanks for the info Galin, what about the hotlap time requirements are they way out now because of the new tyre model? Or am I just being :poop:.
