Things had recently gotten quiet regarding rFactor 2 while developer Studio 397 is hard at work with Le Mans Ultimate. rF2 has not been abandoned, however: The August update brings new liveries, visual improvements and various smaller changes to the sim. More is to come, too.

It may not be a big update, but the official liveries of the 2023 Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain is still a nice addition for more immersion when racing the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992). The series is about to enter the second half of its season at Knockhill this weekend before heading to Donington, Silverstone and Brands Hatch.
Staying with the British racing scene, the BTCC cars in rF2 are also subject to change regarding their brake adjustments and their AI, as well as a tire update. To ensure better competition, their Balance of Performance has been adjusted, focusing on FWD cars in particular. GTE and GT3 vehicles are also among the vehicles that have received slight BoP changes.

Some of the simulation's circuits have received a touch-up regarding their visuals, notably Toban Raceway Park, NOLA Motorsports Park, Mills Metro and Atlanta Motorsports Park. All of them except for NOLA have also seen improved track limit detection for AI drivers.
