Nürburgring Nordschleife Announced for Assetto Corsa Competizione

In a post to the Nürburgring’s social media pages, the Nordschleife has been officially announced as coming to Assetto Corsa Competizione.

Back in the summer, during the SRO Motorsport yearly Press Conference, rumours among the sim racing community began to swell concerning the Nürburgring Nordschleife and Assetto Corsa Competizione.

In fact, the SRO Motorsports Group announced that it would integrate the Nurburgring 24 Hours into its Intercontinental GT Challenge. This lead sim racers to wonder if the SRO’s official game, Assetto Corsa Competizione, could feature the Green Hell.

All posts have since been deleted. But here is a screenshot of the Instagram post.

Well, several months of speculation later and we have our answer. A tweet posted by the Nürburgring’s social media team reveals the circuit in ACC. The post reads, “We’re looking forward to experiencing the legendary Nordschleife and the 24hNBR atmosphere at Assetto Corsa Competizione!”

It seems then that ACC will soon receive an update including the 20.83 km circuit. However, there are many more additions Kunos is yet to deliver. So one might suggest that this content drop will be larger than any other before it.

In fact, a year before the SRO Nurburgring 24 announcement, the 2022 SRO Press Conference mentioned the addition of GT2 machinery to ACC. Over a year and a quarter since the announcement, fans are still awaiting these amateur-centric GT cars.

With GT2 racers also joining the Nurburgring 24 Hour fray this year as part of the experimental GTX class, could we see a selection of cars release alongside the Nordschleife for ACC? Only time will tell.

As yet, no date is announced for the circuit release. Furthermore, we do not know if the track will come with the GT2 pack. However, with development preparing for an “Assetto Corsa 2” launch next year, one must assume a December release is on the cards.

Why not forget AC2 and release more DLC for ACC, please? we could have Okayama, Fuji, Daytona, Sonoma, and with this great game comes TCR, GT1, Toyota Gr Cup all under SRO licence, or if Kunos comes along out of SRO we can have Group C, DRM, DTM90, now with swap drivers and rain
Exactly, the first comment after AC2 release will be on how much better ACC looked like. :D

Great news! Though I feel like they should've added it like two or three years ago. Surely does bring ACC to completion regarding its content.

They better port these into AC2 when it comes out
it makes sense since then they will need to make this track only once for both AC2 and ACC ;)

I really, really hope they will just port every ACC track into AC2 and make an awesome starter. Even it it means avoiding licensed naming, nobody would care as long as they will put all of the tracks in.

I KNOW Kunos was constrained by the official tie-in with SRO, but just how many tracks did KUNOS bring from AC to ACC? Those ACC tracks probably belong to SRO as much as Kunos, I highly doubt Ratel will just allow those properties to hop over to a product that he derives ZERO income from.

Did you have a side by side look of the AC tracks vs ACC tracks? They could've ported them into ACC but they simply weren't looking good enough.
But we don't know which parts they used for ACC for tracks like Brands Hatch, Monza, Laguna Seca and every other track that's in AC too.

SRO might own the final track file but they surely don't own everything inside of the track building software.
So there are definitely work-arounds for the Kunos track builders to quickly use about 80% of the ACC track and touch it up for their AC2 engine.

guys, the idea that a company that organizes races would own 3D models created for a game is just hilarious... I really wonder how you come up with these bizarre ideas.

Well, I've learnt at school that you aren't allowed to post a picture of you in front of the Tour 'Eiffel without paying a licence fee...
So nothing seems impossible :roflmao:

Where is tracks Hockenheim, Magny Cours and update Spa Zandvoort ???
For the complete 2023 season before the Nurburg ! :(

I recently took a break from online racing in ACC as I got tired of being involved in a crash in almost every single race and 90% of the time through no fault of my own.
Nords is great, but it'll be a complete and utter mess online, given the tightness, technicality and complexity of the track.
So yeah, people who have asked for it for years will buy it in droves and then leave it a week or so later I recon (aside from hotlappers and offline players).
talk for them, in the first Assetto Corsa I've put 2000hrs in Norschleife. It's my all-time fav track ! I have 1000hrs in rF2 only for the Norschleife and now I'll put 2000hrs in ACC !
