Nürburgring Nordschleife Announced for Assetto Corsa Competizione

Nordschleife announced for Assetto Corsa competizione.jpg
In a post to the Nürburgring’s social media pages, the Nordschleife has been officially announced as coming to Assetto Corsa Competizione.

Back in the summer, during the SRO Motorsport yearly Press Conference, rumours among the sim racing community began to swell concerning the Nürburgring Nordschleife and Assetto Corsa Competizione.

In fact, the SRO Motorsports Group announced that it would integrate the Nurburgring 24 Hours into its Intercontinental GT Challenge. This lead sim racers to wonder if the SRO’s official game, Assetto Corsa Competizione, could feature the Green Hell.

All posts have since been deleted. But here is a screenshot of the Instagram post.

Well, several months of speculation later and we have our answer. A tweet posted by the Nürburgring’s social media team reveals the circuit in ACC. The post reads, “We’re looking forward to experiencing the legendary Nordschleife and the 24hNBR atmosphere at Assetto Corsa Competizione!”

Nordschleife in ACC

It seems then that ACC will soon receive an update including the 20.83 km circuit. However, there are many more additions Kunos is yet to deliver. So one might suggest that this content drop will be larger than any other before it.

In fact, a year before the SRO Nurburgring 24 announcement, the 2022 SRO Press Conference mentioned the addition of GT2 machinery to ACC. Over a year and a quarter since the announcement, fans are still awaiting these amateur-centric GT cars.

With GT2 racers also joining the Nurburgring 24 Hour fray this year as part of the experimental GTX class, could we see a selection of cars release alongside the Nordschleife for ACC? Only time will tell.

As yet, no date is announced for the circuit release. Furthermore, we do not know if the track will come with the GT2 pack. However, with development preparing for an “Assetto Corsa 2” launch next year, one must assume a December release is on the cards.

Nords is now tied to SRO and thus is a perfect choice for ACC. Since AC2 is not officially tied to any series(that I know of) why would a licensed product for the official title then be handed off to a non-sanctioned title? Any licensing for ACC will also be connected to SRO and thus any NON-SRO product is very unlikely to get 'free' access to the same rights.

Any indication that AC2 will replace ACC? Don't think so. Different game, different content.
Well I know a hardcore element will always play a game, look at GPL but people in general will move on from ACC. I'd be surprised if the cars and tracks in it aren't replicated in AC2.

So yeah, people who have asked for it for years will buy it in droves and then leave it a week or so later I recon (aside from hotlappers and offline players).
And what's wrong with hotlapping and offline players endjoying the Nordschleife? You know, nobody is forcing you to buy it if you are not interested. Pretty sure I'm going to run it from time to time with some friends. Won't be a full grid of course, but I'm sure we're going to have fun with it.

dont get me wrong, its cool, but still a bit odd. Hope they can reuse it for AC2, but wonder how this would work if the track is done in UE4 and AC2 will use their own engine...
From what I know about modding, it's quite simple. There are illegal rips from all kinds of games/sims for AC and rF2. You'll find tracks from the F1 games, from rF2, from AC etc.
Afaik you always start with Blender or other 3D creation software.
You have geometry and textures.
That's identical for all games.

For each sim you then "just" need to adjust things like transparency effects, non-geometry things like generated grass etc.
When going from AC to ACC, they had to make new geometry, new textures, new everything due to it being a newer laserscan and too many years of development between them.
But from ACC to AC2 should be 80% of work already done :)
From the video I reshared it said "Season 2024" so it might not be out for a while
Yep. Maybe they also "have the licence" but can't release it before that season of the license starts.
So first race of that fanatec 2024 GT world series = release of GT2 + Nordschleife.

Absolutely nothing :roflmao::roflmao:

you read my comment wrong mate, what I was saying is that people have been going around pleading and begging for this track without realizing how little is suited to the online driving with cars like GT3s (GT4s and TCs should provide a sensibly better experience).
They will buy it, bless them, and then leave it.

That's it. Mine was not a condemn, nor a blame. Just a statement of the, I believe, obvious. World will keep spinning around just as usual.

Hey Davide, I feel like you're in need for a decent league that fits your fighting style and pace.
I've found such a league (sadly German only) at the end of last year and I'm very confident to have awesome races with a 40-60 car grid at the Nordschleife in the future.
We did 50 cars at the Nürburgring and although there were some crashes between hard fighting drivers, there weren't any between the more careful drivers!
The last places got lapped 5x, P10 even got lapped 1x.
But everyone was using the blinkers, flashed early enough etc.

But I agree that it's, sadly, quite rare and I'm not really looking forward to LFM races at the Nordschleife...

Hello to those sitting in front of the screen or wearing VR glasses.
Since I own AC, ACC and AMS2, I personally don't care if the green hell breaks over ACC.
If I want, I'll go there. Zack, done.
Sure, the new WEC is running there and as a licensed game it should already be in ACC.
To do what?
A 24 h race?
Possibly still with 160 vehicles, divided into three starter groups, online?
A home computer that can handle this has yet to be invented.
Of course everything in ultra settings at 16K resolution.
This will be a first-class butcher festival.
Maybe game designers should start using artificial intelligence that adapts to the player, reacts to his maneuvers, and learns instead of always publishing the same race tracks and cars.
Not everyone goes online or has a private server with a few friends because they don't want or have the time to join a league where a time window is set.
But hey, I begrudge the ACC owners this hotlap racetrack.
Attention Spoiler alert.
Max Verstappen comes first in a meaningless race in a racing series whose world champion has been decided for weeks anyway.
I know that was mean now.
Have a nice weekend.
Tschüß.
The WEC couldn't be on ACC due to a licence problem, WEC regulations and licence is under ACO not SRO.
You don't need a set of time for playing online, on LFM there are races every hour, or more, from morning till night.
I agree with you that there's a lot of tracks interesting and not well known like Ams1 or 2, tracks, like Floripa, Velocitta or many others never released like Monteblanco, Ledenon etc but if you play many games you can race on Longbeach, Bathurst, Misano, Loch Drummond, Goiana, Zolder, Okayama all include on Rf2, Ams2 or ACC

We just need another DLC called SRO GT3 Legends with these Cars
-Aston Martín Dbrs9
-Ferrari 430
-Glickenhaus P4/5
-Bmw z4
-Mercedes sls
-Corvette C6
-Morgan plus 8
-Bmw alpina
-Ferrari 458
-Audi R8 2015

Thanks Rasmus! Right now, I am driving RBR through RSF and their hosted championships, thanks to Daniel Monteiro's suggestion. Give me the name of this league though, please. Might be an interesting discovery and something to join going into the new year

Haven't touched my ACC for a couple of years, time not being on my side for competitive online racing.

If rumours are real, I'll return for at least try-out hotlapping trying to feel the VR immersion in my rig..and maybe a tad of shorter offline races at this track of which I've visited so frequently both simwise and IRL through the years with great joy (a wish to the genie: pls give me 48hrs in the day...).

Ohh,the kids all happy form someting that exists for years in bests sims.....:roflmao:

i think many of these cars might actually come at some point to GTRevival...

Who says you just stick to a single sim? I'm just curious about the dedicated track modeling for highly competitive racing of Kunos' work.

Simwise I've enjoyed Nordschleife since beta modbuild for F1C99-02 +20years ago, thrilled finally to simrace the track tried IRL, besides a phletoria of NS mods for rF1, GTR2, WTCC/Race07/SimBin-series, SCx, AC, rF2 as well as the official ones. I'm just curious driving/racing the different versions, not only to make comparisons but as well the ability to race various decades of this track.

So one up is always wecome here :)

Ofc 1st thought should be Kunos' job is straight forward since already in their barn for AC, but a LIDAR or similar trustworthy precise modelling of IRL event for competitive online endurance racing, and reflecting grid is a bit of another ballgame.

VRGT3C on Virtualracing. After 2 races, you have to pay about 30€ for one season, 45€ for full year.
No voice communication necessary, so if the auto translation for the forums works well enough, there shouldn't be an issue to join :)

Here's the stream of the mentioned Nürburgring race, 8 months ago.
Start at 33:03.

Raceroom is too old, too expensive and not used enough. rF2 isn't for everyone as we all know and in AC everyone crashes out if you even look at the other car in a wrong way.
ACC is easy to drive decently fast, traction control does a great job of letting you have a bumpy/slightly slippy rear while staying in control and you can scratch some paint of the other cars without everyone dying.
Combined with the decently done cut/penalty system and rolling start, it works well for a lot of users.

I wouldn't say that it's "the best" or anything, don't get me wrong!
But it's "the easy to get in" sim right now to have good racing (if you have a community without idiots).

Someone from the Nürburgring PR team is going to get in trouble. Probably leaked ahead of time, before Kunos could make the announcement. Won't be surprised to have something official next week. Lately they have zero luck regards to this. The GT2 pack was spoiled by Stéphane Ratel at a GTWorld press meeting, now this. AC 2 was basically announced by 505 games in a financial document.
Anyway we probably won't see this released until next spring. Which makes me wonder what's going on with AC 2? Is it going to be slotted to 2025, and ACC gets another year of support? Are they baking two breads in the oven the same time? Or that teaser had nothing to do with ACC, but was actually from AC 2? This is getting interesting.
