First things first: A new vehicle had already been announced before the details about the August update was detailed, but it has now been confirmed to be a racing truck. The new racer should differ from the other cars already in the game considerably, being much heavier than the rest of the roster. Curious Chicken Games thinks "it'll be a player favorite when online multiplayer launches in the coming months!"

New circuits mostly aimed at the racing truck are also coming, as are new additions to the track editor: Numerous new objects will find their way into the integrated Create-a-Track mode of GeneRally 2, including tree stumps, log stacks, containers and new flags, plus more that have not been revealed yet. The new objects serve to make track creations come to life even more (and to let you implement more obstacles if you wish, of course).

Meanwhile, the menu receives part one of a rework that improves visuals and their general user-friendlyness. You cannot control the menu via you keyboard or controller yet, though, as this is going to be included in the second part of the menu rework later on.

New Languages

However, there is a new language option available as the game can be switched to Russian, with Italian and Polish still being in the works for now. Curious Chicken is hopeful for them to be included once the update drops, however. The full update preview is available on the official GeneRally 2 website.

When exactly that may be is not quite clear yet, but the developer promised that it will launch "at some point in August".
