Automobilista 2 | 1995 CART Tease

Just yesterday Reiza Studios teased their latest update to AMS2 with this tweet.

As far as I can tell, in this tweet that is a 1995 CART.

We already have Indy Cars in AMS2 from 1998 and 2000 and further additions to this category are very welcome.

The 1995 Indy car World Series was the seventeenth season of the CART era and consisted of 17 races. The driver’s champion was Jacques Villeneuve, who had been rookie of the year in 1994. Villeneuve won the opening race in Miami, he won again in Cleveland and Road America and was also crowned race winner at the Indy 500.

In this Tweet, Reiza states that further information about the March update will be released this week.

Reiza Studios have been pumping out many updates, some of which have drastically changed the way the cars handle and behave.

What updates are you hoping for this March?

I hope that Reiza will do everything that's in their power to get the multiplayer more alive then it is now. The game is so amazing, the best in sim racing atm imo. AMS2 deserves way more online racers.

I know that Renato had idea's about official server/scheduled races, I hope that these plans are rolled out ASAP.

I also hope that the current content gets updated with bug fixes (many open bugs, engine wise) and improvements.

I hope that the following gets finally fixed:
Why is it it STILL impossible to join a host that is still in qualifying for the last 2-6 minutes? It should be possible to just jump into the race when it hasn't started yet, the qualifying still has 6 minutes at that moment before the race really starts because of the following:
- 2 mins for the qualifying itself
- 2 mins for the people that need to finish the last qualifying lap(depends on the track, so average)
- 2 mins before the race really begins
It should be possible to just join and to be added in the last spot. So that more can race! This alone will already help to keep the MP more active.

Second important thing to help multiplayer:
When a host quits or there comes a time-out or the host doesn't click on continue or something (I don't know what exactly happens) then it could take ages before the race actually starts after qualifying because it's "waiting for something" and many many drivers quit then because they think that the host is bugged but in the end after ~4-5 minutes the race ALWAYS starts. @reiza/Rentato: Can you please shorten this time to max. 10 seconds or to just let it go automatically? It's nonsense to not go to the race after everyone is finished qualifying.

I am sure that these 2 things are an irritation factor for almost everyone that plays AMS2 online. So @Renato/Reiza please look at this.

Thanks!

With all these 90s CART machines, I hope an update includes layouts with textures, ad banners, and trackside objects updated to backdate tracks like Cleveland and Road America to the 90s. As well as a historically accurate 90s Long Beach layout. Would add some serious immersion when combined with the AI/livery packs here on RD!

I think driver swap functionality would add massively as well. Most of the biggest sim racing events all involve driver swaps/team events.

Maybe that is why they are showing the train in the background. More track side detail.

Was just thinking the other day - I wasn't really that big fan of gen3 CART cars,
that's a period when all has started to go south for them but these beauties... omg
I was thinking, oh shame that they after '98 that go to other (wrong:D) way, wish they go a few years back (my favorite CART year is actually '97, just look at my avatar, little help - CART Precision racing) but this is really close enough, now I can drive as my favorite driver of all time in his car - JV. and damn what a season that was, both Indy 500 and the championship ! wow good ol times :inlove::unsure:

thank you REIZA, you rock. you kickin ass.

and bunch of other things that can't be really said here :)

edit:
maybe it's '94 hmm

I hope they fix the braking, the tires lock up a lot, even at 250km, even with ABS on.
I hope they fix the acceleration, the cars come out strange when accelerating, they pull a lot, even with TC on
eu AMO AMS 2
I can confirm the surge kick is extremely high on the CART cars on a 6 DOF rig. The accelerating/shifting force on the CART cars is way too strong, something is not right, even when compared other powerful cars.

Great news, '95 was about the pinnacle of the sport for mine. So i'll be looking forward to this. Now if they happened to create the Surfers Paradise Street Circuit i'd be in heaven. A real street fighting circuit.

I still don't know what it is but I play other games like AC and the cars feel light and they dance around when you push them. Then I go and try AMS2, and yes, there has definitely been improvements in the physics, but it just feels a bit bogged down, like the rear is self correcting (if you really push your luck and over cook it). Almost like a driver aid is on, it's very bizarre. I know nowadays I'm in the minority, plus I really do want to like AMS2 like I did 1, but that feeling/thought persists! I do hope Reiza goes from strength to strength though.

Absolutely in love with the Indycars of the early-mid 90s.
I remember i played the hell out of the rFactor mod with the 1994 and 1995 cars and in the 90's i was addicted to Indycar Racing 1 and 2, especially the street circuits like Surfers Paradise, Long Beach, Vancouver, Toronto.

We could add to your list the mirrors in VR, they are still not adjustable, you adjust the height of the seat so that your view is at the right height in relation to the shoulders of the pilot "avatar" and when you look at the mirrors you see the bottom of the tires of the cars behind you! :-(
Solution lean down in your seat to see the entire road behind you, it's very...(rudeness)!
Agree with EVERYTHING you wrote, including that AMS2 is The Best Simulation! I love!!! :)
