Rally - WRC 2 Test - Monday 4th & Tuesday 5th February 2013

Bad rallye for me:

SS1 - Greenhills: I had a good feeling but on the second part of the SS I met a tree... out. I made 80% of the SS :(
SS2 - Fraizer Wells: I wanted to make sure that I go accross the finish line, so I was prudent...not really fast.
SS3 - BTB SWE Hygget: I was happy with my performence, not too slow, not really fast as well :)
SS4 - BTB SWE Tuna: I was really disapointed, I crashed at 10-15% of the SS, too bad!
SS5 - CZE Liptakov 1: I forget to change my tyres!!! WI made it with gravel dry... no grip, I finished the SS but it was too stupid from me not having the good tyres on this one.
SS6 - BTB Finland - Ouninpohja: I didn't find any setup from me!?!! I don't know why. So I made a 40 secondes setup for this one. I crashed at 19% of the stage.

Sooo, not a good session for me. But always a great feeling to drive against you all.

I have to solve the following problem:

On BTB Finland - Ouninpohja, I practiced alone a lot and found a good setup that I saved.

Once online I didn't find any setup, do you know why?

Thanks RD and you all for this event.

SS1: Fair enough. Didn't get into any rythm. Had a crash and a spin. Lot of on/off with throttle and brake...
SS2: Went well. Did two small mistakes, maybe lost a second overall. But still, faster than I am on gravel on this stage! :p
SS3: Well, went of after split 1, as usual, then rolled with 300m to go, and got stuck in 3rd!
SS4: Good first split. But the stage are to narrow for my driving style... :/ Retired.
SS5: Retired - Restarted for comparison.
SS6: After passing the yellow house, I decided to try flat out for once. Didnt quite work out. Didn't care about restarting for comparison here.

I did a lot of practice for this Rally, really keen to see how my times compare with the other WRC-2 Cars. A bit nervy for Ouninpohja though, I think I have a completion rate of about 5%? :p

SS1 - Don't like this stage terribly much, just going to cruise through it. Hit a snow bank early on, got away with it, but was a bit tentative. About 10 seconds slower than practice. But finished, so :)
SS2 - OK, was about my average practice pace, pretty happy.
SS3 - Like Cedric, my BTB setups were gone, still 5 seconds off my PB, pretty happy.
SS4 - Taking it steady, in the latter part of the course I got some understeer and brushed a log pile, scrubbed off some speed but luckily I got away without a scratch. Will definitely need to make some set-up tweaks for Ouninpohja though.
SS5 - Pretty happy, consistent with my practice times. I'm lousy at those artificial chicanes though :p ...time for Ouninpohja now...
SS6 - Before this event, I never appreciated how important setups were, but I noticed on the BTB stages now, how much more difficult it was to drive without my preferred setup. Particularly this stage. I was a bit tentative here, I picked long gears, but I probably should have done short given my pace :p. Still, my completion rate for this stage is now 10% :D (though it nearly wasn't, 2.9km from end of stage my mind wandered and I slipped into a ditch, managed to get out without hitting a tree though)

Overall, I'm immensely proud of myself for finally completing a rally without any CFHs or DNFs, and I really hope I make Grade 3 or 2, because I absolutely love this car.

Thanks once again to Roy and Ole for hosting a great event!

Took it nice and carefully tonight, no technical problems this week so :)
Some stupid errors in the snow stages meant a couple of CFH but given my track record on snow that's none too surprising!
Thought the BTB stages were excellent, a few dodgy pacenote calls here and there (we really need a 'chicane' call!), but really enjoyed them.
SS6 - what a marathon; glad I'm used to playing symphonies as that stage demands full concentration the whole time. Caught myself slipping a few times but all good and WOW, what a stage.
The little Skoda performed perfectly; went exactly where I pointed it and provided I kept it revving high (where it has a distinct little whistle to the engine tone), it powered on
Thanks for organising the event guys, very enjoyable.

Failed terribly on the first 2 stages, but redeemed myself in Hygget, Liptakov, and Ouninpohja :D
Second (?) time I've ever finished the complete stage, and didn't even leave the road once!
on the whole, great rally  thanks guys!
I think I need a cuppa and a lie down after that O_o

Have you tried the "Set Specific Resolution for this stage" button in RSRBR? I think it automatically adjusts the track to those settings anytime it loads, could be helpful.

Ole said:
In RSRBR 2013, you have the option to adjust resolution and graphics (no idea what the graphics changes does...) for each stage. So if any stage lags, you might be able to fix that, by making an unique setting for that stage! it's worth a shot :)

Ta chaps, I'll go and have a play now. Might try and get some pics of the 2 stages I completed later as well!

You could try using a download manager, they do some weird parallel connection thing which sometimes increase download speed. I'm in NZ and get around 15kbps from Rallyesim servers, and around 40kbps using a download manager. You can probably find one that's a browser plugin.
Yep thats better managed to get around 40 -45kbps:thumbsdown:
Thanks for the help thats what cool about the Race Department forum
theres always some one willing to help you out
cheers:)

As promised, some pics of the beautiful but fragile Escort Cosworth!

I absolutely loved this rally. I love the sound of the Audi. Thanks to the organizers for all the work it took to put on the show and to the many drivers that signed in on this one. I'm starting to find a bit of consistency, no CFH's and no DNF's this time out, but I'm not finding the speed. Maybe more practice, where I crash often, and/or actual car setups instead of the default onesI've been using with RSRBR 2013.

Thanks again to everyone!!
