Downloading it now but tried the preview, well what can I say mate it was fun and now it's even more fun!

Thanks Guido, glad you're having loads of fun... I'm glad I finally delivered on the seagulls and waves sfx :D
I'm so sorry for your loss. Thank you for the hard work you put into these tracks. I'm sure I'll enjoy them!
Phoenix77
Phoenix77
Thanks Goblin... Have fun with driving along the Pacific... These challenging times are slowing down a total overhaul, but it is happening!
yo yo yoooo downloading here! lets cruise! start servers ppl!
Phoenix77
Phoenix77
Cheers mate, 50+ servers at the moment, plenty of great driving on them... And a lot of speeding! :D
Amazing work man ! The guardrails are awesome. the bushs increase the feel of speed and much increased detail with textures. I cant stop playing this track has a real cali vibe to it without the traffic. Thanks dude
Phoenix77
Phoenix77
Cheers mate. Really glad you're liking the added items... There will be continuous improvements as and when I learn more, mainly texture work... There is a location or two to go in yet.
Although I can't do that until some optimisation work happens first. Thanks for your continued reviews mate, Much appreciated :)
Even if you have pretty high expectations, this mod exceeds them by far. Outstanding. Bravo.
Phoenix77
Phoenix77
Thanks dude, I'm really glad 1.0 exceeds your expectations... Cheers!
maybe my mistake but the car textures are flickering on this track, i use sol and shaders. that is maybe the problem, but the rest is looking good. maybe any body can help me to fix it ^^
Phoenix77
Phoenix77
Thanks, It's likely not Sol or Shaders.... It's because the start points are around 11km's from the models 0,0,0 origin point...

As you get further from this point, Assetto (and most games) physics has round up inaccuracies. This is something I was unaware of before starting my 1st track.

There is no Fix (trackwise) apart from driving for a km or so... Then it goes away. There is however a patch (from the guy who makes Content Manager) that can improve things a little.

Looks wonderful but unfortunately is unplayable with my Rift CV1. Seems it's too demanding. Whereas I can play all tracks with Rift CV1 on this track the screen is shaking and the framerate is under 45 FPS with only 1 car practicing. On all other tracks I achieve 90 FPS even when racing against AI-opponents... Don't know what's the problem (maybe not enough optimized yet). I still gave you 4 stars (although unplayable for me) because of wonderful optics... I hope one day I can drive this gem too...
Phoenix77
Phoenix77
Sorry you're having trouble playing this on your rift Mike :(

Thanks, Firstly for the review... Secondly for being generous with the stars even though it's unplayable for you... and thirdly for the performance figures. I'm guessing if you're using the Rift, you already have more than enough performance to drive this track.... When it's optimised properly.

I think I already know a few of the issues why this track is much heavier on performance than it should be.
1) I need to name my objects respecting the KSTREE_GROUP naming convention.
2) When my UV mapping skills increase I need to combine textures into larger, texture "libraries".

Both of these things will massively reduce the DIP's/drawcalls which are causing the un-optimised performance issue.

No.1 will be easier to fix as I have to rename the trees/bushes into different KSTREE groups.
My UV mapping skills will take a bit longer to learn as I'm a 3DS Max newb and this is my 1st track.

I will run some tests with KSTREE_GROUP'ing and if it lowers the drawcalls noticeably I will upload another update soon.

You will one day (hopefully soon) be driving down here! ;)
I have a freefall problem when I start Practise Mode at the pit in both Cruise-Mansion and Traffic-Mansion. When I start go into starting line for both, it works but my car is nowhere near the mansion nor at the entry road onto the main highway. If I try to go offroad on the side of the gate into the property, the freefall happens again. Is there a fix?
Phoenix77
Phoenix77
There is no fix.... For a problem you've created by not following the instructions I provide!

Pay particular attention to...

ii) When prompted, allow requested files to be overwritten

I've also said this in reply to your multiple emails adding to clogging up my inbox unnecessarily!
great track. it is incomplete so 4 stars for now
Phoenix77
Phoenix77
Thanks, glad you're liking it... Technically it's a fully functional track... Far more functional than L.A Canyons... But fair enough it is still under development.
Cheers for the review.
Great idea, fun to drive even at this stage. I hope you think about some "gathering areas" in the begining and the end of the route, like gas stations or motels, just to turn around or have a break. The road itself need serious mesh improvement, it hard to feel anything right now. Add some bankings, it's too flat in corners. Rest, like trees, rocks, etc., will come in time. I have great faith in this project, so little of them in AC. Keep up the good work!
Phoenix77
Phoenix77
Thanks mate, for feedback, suggestions & rating :)
Yeah gathering areas is totally worth bearing in mind.
Will look at that later down the line though..
More importantly... The road cambers need looking at along with work on road/terrain mesh.
I was going to wait before uploading...
But as you say it's fun already so I thought I'd see if people like the concept. Thanks for your support, appreciate it :)
That's all I need: a winding road with views on the sea! Great project. One thing I think it needs is some road signs!
Phoenix77
Phoenix77
Thanks for rating :) Glad you're liking it so far... Check out v0.209 has some Highway Patrol skins... So you can have some chases when the Porsches arrive. Will be adding all the objects when I get the road/terrain 100% right... I think it's about 70% there at the moment... So might be a while yet
Lovely project. The trees are to dark. Please also add a good physic road mesh. Track needs more FFB and more little bumbs. It is too flat, too smooth. Keep on working on this nice track!
Phoenix77
Phoenix77
Thanks, the trees were almost glowing before... So I turned the shader down a bit too much.

HR FFB mesh is in my to do list... But I won't be subdividing and adding noise until later... until I'm 100% happy with the track position... I'm about 90 - 95% happy with it at the moment... I'm guessing you have your road effect up in your feedback? As I don't really find the FFB that much of a problem at the moment TBH. But it will be addressed later mate.

With 100+ hours gone into this so far... Don't worry I won't stop working on this... And it's only halfway to where it will be ;) it's a 0.512 remember. There's another important location to go in yet...

Then all will become clear

Thanks for the feedback ;)
BTW someone actually ported this map on car mechanic simulator 2018 without your permission. i am pretty sure they didnt give credit.
Phoenix77
Phoenix77
Thanks for letting me know, I'll make sure to add additional copyright to PCH v1.0 as with LA Canyons.
Yeah there is a small minority of cheeky, lazy, dumb idiots out there sadly.
all works great other than no road on the mansion track i spawn and fall threw map
Phoenix77
Phoenix77
Read all instructions.... Notably in your case "Allow all overwrites"... when installing the Extras.
Fantastic track for relax and enjoy the AC physics

Sadly there is no server online with this awesome track when it should be

Keep the good work man

Kudos!
Phoenix77
Phoenix77
Thanks Emmanuel... That's great to know you're enjoying it :)
Hope you're having fun chasing down some supercars.

Hopefully there will be servers one day soon...
If the word gets around, then maybe there will be...
When there are servers online I plan to make 3 or 4 Pusuit layouts, with pit boxes all over the map...

Great work, thank you for your efforts! This is an excellent 'cruiser', too; It's nice to finally be able to drive north in California without traffic =)
Phoenix77
Phoenix77
Thanks mate, Cruising down here has to be done... And I noticed the traffic while looking on google maps... I may be adding some mystery random hazards so you might have to beware ;)
Nice work, fun to cruise on.
Phoenix77
Phoenix77
Thanks Brandon :)
Fun's what it's all about mate... Looking forward to getting the updated version finished and on here. It's a massive improvement
Love the "track". Please please add some barriers and maybe some signs in some of the key slow corners. So frustrating to get about 11 mins in and fall off the road. Some huge potential for this.
Phoenix77
Phoenix77
Glad you're loving it :) Will be adding those things later... But as my computer is a bit underpowered I'm keeping it simple (well simple..ish) until I'm 100% happy with the road/terrain mesh... 0.2 is coming soon... Hope to have the meshes sorted by 0.3 and objects will be added from 0.4 onwards ;) Until then... Use the map, I added it for that reason... or stick a couple of AI on and keep up with them to learn the route ;)
I love these point to point tracks, partly because it reminds me of the old Need For Speed games. This has a lot of potential... keep going!
Phoenix77
Phoenix77
Cool, nice one thanks :) Yeah have heard about the reminding of NFS... That's kind of why I did a number of CHP skins... Check my downloads if you want them
I was waiting for this track to be a little more updated.
So you also added the Californian earthquakes in the map.
