Mercedes w125 | Sound Mod + Final drive ratios 0.8

I've been driving through a 1937 season with @mantasisg 's Mercedes w125 and decided to make a couple of small QOL updates.

Sound:
The original sound is (i think?) similar or the same as the auto union type c. It sounds great, but I wanted a more pronounced difference in engine note between the two as I believe would've been the case in reality (the auto union had a 6l v16 and the mercedes had a 5.6l supercharged inline 8). This is my first attempt at any sound modding so it may be a little rough around the edges, and far from 100% there (not helped by the fact there's very few samples to work with). But I definitely think it gets the vibe across :)

Install:
Extract the zip and then copy the 'sfx' folder into your car folder, replace both files when prompted. I also recommend backing up your sfx folder before hand.

New engine sound:

Final drive ratios:
I've added 3 additional lower final drive ratios (3.10, 3.00, 2.93) to prevent excessive redlining at spa, avus, tripoli etc. No clue if this is at all realistic but I imagine in the day they would have been able to create whatever ratios were desired.

Install:

  1. first, you need to have the full version of content manager.
  2. click the 'about' tab in CM, click the version number a few times to enable developer mode.
  3. go into the 'content' tab in CM and find the mercedes w125.
  4. click 'unpack data' on the bottom of the screen
  5. find the 'final.rto' file in the unpacked data folder and create a backup.
  6. copy the 'final.rto' file from the download into the unpacked data folder, overwriting the original.
  7. Repack the data and delete the old unpacked data folder.
  8. done!

I would also highly recommend getting the physics update from @aphidgod and @67JTM's skinpack. (make sure to install the physics update before installing the final drive changes)

Amazing. I will always be fascinated by the really old cars, their looks, their story and how fast they already were. This new sound is awesome too.Merci.
