Attached is a high definition replica of Bob Sharp's Datsun 240Z built to IMSA GTU specifications. The livery has been built up for use with the gd_nissan_240zg model.
Perhaps one of the most iconic Nissan racing liveries, the red/white/blue Z cars of Bob Sharp were campaigned throughout the 1970s, attaining many trophies and lap records for SCCA C Production and the IMSA GTU.
Based from his dealership in Connecticut, Sharp converted a 240z to GTU spec for the 1975 Season, dominating many of the races in that year's lineup and securing the GTU Championship Title.
In 1976, the car was written off at Road Atlanta when Sharp blew a tire at high speed. Despite walking away from the crash mostly unharmed, Sharp would pass the baton to many other experienced drivers for the remainder of the season, including Sam Posey, Elliott Forbes-Robinson, and Paul Newman.
The replacement car was rapidly built up using the previous year's competitive C-Production 240Z. This car, now nearly identical to its younger GTU sibling with its flares and aerodynamic 'G-Nose', would continue on for the remainder of '76.
Once the season was finished, the rebuilt car would pass ownership to Sam Posey, who continued to modify and compete with the car into the late 70s. The car still exists today, occasionally being exhibited and displayed. Sharp would much later purchase another GTU spec racer, and convert it into his own tribute car, which just recently passed into new ownership after a Bringatrailer auction. That car now competes in historic racing events.
This model is a joy to drive in Assetto and fits in very well with the recent
AC Legends GT Classic Pack by Bazza. Thank you for viewing these skins and for the kind praise. This will be the last of my ZGs for the moment, but may return to this car in the future. Please enjoy!
