Assetto Corsa Grand Prix Karting Sochi
Ever wanted to race with a Formula Student car on Olympic grounds? Well this is your chance! This track runs around a former Olympic complex. It is meant to give you the feeling of a street circuit, but it's also just a purpose build permanent racetrack. The track has a very clear Herman Tilke feel, which means a combination of very straight straights and 90 degree turns, much high speed parts and just a few very slow corners. This GPK version is also very fast and where other GPK tracks have no big runoff areas, this one has, because without them it would not be Sochi anymore. Beware of the extra tires at the outside of the corners. They are there for a reason, to prevent using a lot of runoff tarmac to improve your lap times. They are positioned very precisely to just do that but not get in the way for wheel to wheel battles.
Grand Prix Karting
Grand Prix Karting tracks are F1 tracks with the layout of the original F1 track but the size, look and feel of real world karttracks. No big runoff areas, but modern wide kerbs, pit not on the infield but on the outside of the track, not many grand stands but a pitbuilding which is also a grandstand. These tracks are not a resized conversion of existing tracks but scratch build. Not laser scanned (because they are fiction) but handmade, which was a bit of a challenge with some tracks with a lot of elevation in the track and the terrain surrounding the track.

The team is a relatively small and young team composed of over 50 students from various degrees, and currently fully focused on designing and developing the MFT01, the 2021 challenger.
