Why is stock car refuel limited to 9 laps?

When planning race fuel strategy, why is it that I can start with 12 laps of fuel, but only plan for 9 lap refuels each time? Is this as per real life? Can they not take two 9 lap cans over the wall during a pitstop?

I am trying to run a 100% (30 lap race), some of the AI cars seem to do only one stop, but I have to do two, as I can only set the strategy for 12, 9, 9.

You can up the fuel at pitstop by adjusting it in game on the information panel bottom right of screen.

Highlight the fuel section and adjust up the amount of fuel intake.

Thanks for that ML2166, that helps and I will do that, but I do wonder why it is limited to 9 in the garage.

Not seen any of the Stock Cars series on video, so perhaps it is a ruling or something?

Yes it is a rule, though there´s a loophole around it in the Game.

ah ok many thanks for the explanation, must see if I can find a set of the rules, in the meantime I'll set my season up so that the AI and I all do roughly 9 lap stints
