Sell [UK] Fanatec Shifter Non-Fanatec Short Shaft Mod £28.50inc

This ad does mention both knobs and shafts quite a lot. Also screwing. No giggling at the back please.

As per title / pictures, a 7.35cm version of the Fanatec shifter shaft, but with an M12 x 1.75 gear knob thread.

THIS IS NOT a short shift mod - the shift distance remains the same, you just have a shorter gear stick, which means you need a little more force to change gear. (And it looks / feels much better IMO).

This shaft is the same amount shorter than the original as the Fanatec ball knob is shorter than the long, er, knob. So the long knob on the short shaft would be the same length as the ball knob on the original shaft. See pics.

The M12 x 1.75 thread means you can fit a super-duper carbon fibre knob (e.g. like this one for only £106.35). Or you could probably find one that fits for under a tenner on eBay / AliExpress.

OR

You *could* actually use the Fanatec knobs. Because the thread pitch is different they will only screw on a turn or two before getting tight, but both can be fitted and used. See pics.

NOTE!

If you buy this and fit a Fanatec knob it *might* be possible to spoil the thread, so it's at your own risk. The shaft and knob are both made of very strong alloy and IMO you can't really get enough torque on the knob to cause any damage, but that's not a challenge :)

The lower end fits perfectly into the shifter.

And it's silver, not black, if that wasn't clear from the pictures.

FITTING
Unscrew your gear knob and see if there's a hole through the shaft below the thread. If there is then your gear shaft has probably been thread-locked in place, in which case you will need to put something through the hole (e.g. an Allen key etc) to unscrew it. It will be tight all the way until it comes off. If there's no hole (early shifters) you can unscrew the shaft by hand. Under the shaft is a spring that might come out with the shaft. DON'T lose the spring when fitting! Put the spring back in place if it came out, screw the new shaft onto the male thread in the shifter by pushing down on the spring, and then add the knob of your choice. There are plenty of vids on YT, but it's really simple.

This shaft has a through-hole, so you have the option of thread-locking it on if you want, and you'll still be able to get it off in the future.

PRICE:
£26.50 including 2nd class post within the UK.
£28.50 including 1st class signed-for post within the UK.
Will be sent wrapped, in a used Jiffy bag.

In either case I should get a receipt when I hand the parcel to the postie, but if you choose the cheap option and it does happen to take ages / get lost that's on you I'm afraid.

DM with any questions / enquiries.
