Small problem with CTDP F1 2005 mod

So, I'm using the AL version of the mod, and I'm having an issue in Qualifying.

The mod is set up so you only have 3 laps in qualifying (trying to emulate the 2005 rules), but some of the AI cars just decide to go for an extra lap and end up getting disqualified and moved to the back of the grid. Is there any way to prevent this?

Also, is it normal that the AI is a lot faster during qualifying? I mean, I have a very good pace during the race, but I'm always a second slower than my teammate in qualifying. Just wondering if this happens to annyone else.
