Race #8 (HUNGARY)

Appeal #1 (Twister-Racing)

WC Race Director's Post-Race Checks incident #1
Drivers involved: Petar Brljak / Ivar Kalamees

Verdict:
The appellant's facts are partially accepted. The Court of Appeal has decided to confirm the 0.5 licence points penalty handed to Petar Brljak, rejecting the appellant's primary request to replace the penalty with an Official Warning. However, the Court accepts the appellant's secondary request to remove the 15 seconds post-race penalty handed to Brljak.

Non-unanimous verdict detail (Statement by Trayan Sarafov):
The car in front indeed made a late braking move, but the move was still clear, in terms that the car in front was in front the whole time and inside the racing lines. The car behind never went side-by-side with the car in front, or even side by side with his front right tyre to the rear left tyre of his opponent. I'd see the whole thing as a racing situation.
