Help with Dashboard and Dash Meter Texture

Hey guys, recently started back MSC with all the new updates. Playing around with texture a bit, and trying to fiddle the dash and dash meter panel texture to get a 2 tone look, but I can't seem to get it to work as separate texture?

Below is the photo of what I'm trying to achieve, the instrument panel to be in different texture than the surface. I tried editing dashboard.tex but it doesn't work, and the dashboard_surface.tex would apply all over the entire dash (single tone only).

I downloaded the below file and applied but still same result. Am I missing something with the new updates?

This was changed fairly recently. dashboard.tex used to cover the dashboard meters but in the new updates dashboard_surface.tex is tiled over the meters instead. I'm hoping there are maybe plans to add a GT dash to go with the other new GT accessories in the experimental build...
