Help with Camaro?

Does anyone have any tips on setting up the Camaro? I'm currently driving it around Brazilia 1. It seems like a complete dog, only suited to long, non-technical tracks or something.

One problem is the game won't let me change the gear ratios, not even the final drive.

Also the AI seems a lot stronger than the other cars so far. I'm driving at 95% but can only qualify at about 8th. With the other cars I was getting in the top 3.

I see that there are no setups offered atm so I'm wondering if everyone else hates it too.

I find the Camaro to be quite enjoyable to drive, although 2nd and 3rd can be just the worst on certain tracks.
