FM23 Forza Motorsport: an (almost) driving simulator tire physics?

Forza Motorsport 2023 (Turn 10 Studios)
In a short trailer on Twitter, the Turn 10 team explains how the tire physics of the new Forza Motorsport chapter is "a good 48 times better than the previous version of the series".

In the video, taken from June's Forza Monthly, the creative director compares the tire physics of Forza Motorsport 7 for Xbox One, where the tires had only one point of contact and the physics data was refreshed by the game at 60Hz. The result was satisfactory at the time (2017), but clearly there was ample room for development.

In fact, in the new Forza Motorport for PC and Xbox Series X|S, there are now eight tire touchpoints and data is processed at 360Hz (“48x,” which is six times the processing speed for eight touchpoints). The result, as we can see from the clip, is that the rubber in contact with the ground and the banks deform in a much more credible way.

In another video, the team explains how artificial intelligence has made great strides compared to the previous game in the series. We remind you that Forza Motorsport will be available from October 3, 2023 on Xbox Series X | S, PC and in the Game Pass catalog.
