Ai Driver Swaps?

I'm thinking about purchasing ACC. One thing I am looking for is the option for ai driver swap. Is this possible in ACC?

Yes.

Unfortunately I don't think that's possible. I'm new to the game myself so may have missed something, but I haven't seen the option. I'm not even sure if you can save the game mid race. Certainly would be a good option if it were to be added.

Possibel work around if this is even possible would be to use a "toggle ai control" then at a certain point in the race save mid-race then re-load race and enter under my control?

You can save during races. No AI buddy to take over the sceond stint though.

I have not tried SP much in ACC. But I was messing about with a 6hr race. I drove FP1 but my AI team buddy drove FP2 with no option to take over. I didn't try the race, but I presumed this meant the AI would drive their stint...??

Could well be entirely possible then when it comes to the longer races. I've not gone over 1 hour yet.

Me neither. I've now come to my first 3h Race in Career mode, will see how that goes.
In Sprint races I had to drive both stints. No option for AI swap.

I saw a save option during races when bringing the ingame / pause menu up, but never tried it so far.

Just press ESC and the menu should pop up.

! You can only save a game when on track, not when in the pits. !

It works quite well. Afterwards, you can just resume your career and it will let you automatically resume the race where you saved it. I've used it for a number of multiple hour races.
