Only occured to me when I had people call me out for knocking them off a corner (legit move, its a demolition racer) and Im thinking, how did they know it was me?, when I get taken out I have no idea what happened or who did it (well, I have some idea).
Absolutely agree....I personally view in 'Bonnet Cam' mostly as in Cockpit view the bonnet obsures my view after a few impacts :D:roflmao: and although I can feel through my Wheel when someone is behind me trying to spin me out I can usually correct my steering to get out of it:thumbsup::thumbsup:...but as you say who did that :roflmao::roflmao:...great fun

Darn, I keep meaning to try this...

As for VR - I got sick after 2 laps of AC with no crashing. Also, a piece of VR advice that I regularly see is "close your eyes before you crash" :D
Would people who are more used to VR be able to cope with crashes all the time?

I start every race in the cockpit view, sometimes I have to switch out to bonnet as soon as the first corner, very rarly do I finish a race still in the cockpit.

Its also a great game for the H-Shifter.

The racing tends to be cleaner towards the front of the pack, if you are caught anywhere else it can be a battle more then a race just to get to the end.

Interesting answers here... :)
I think i will check my steering settings later and try it with a wheel again.
What wheel do you have?
It's important to put the "saturation" to 50%.

That way the wheel is 1:1 your real wheel. Go into cockpit view and make sure that it matches!

If you don't, the steering will be quite awkward hehe.

I had my g27 and now my fanatec at 900°.

Ok, found something... From one of the RD events. @Joakim Skalstad getting knocked away by a truck!

From a "Norwegian Evening". So sorry for lots of gibberish (Norwegian talk), and me making sounds like I'm doing something entirely different. But this was one hectic, fair, and though lap! (Sorry @Joakim Skalstad @Roy Magnes and @jmjtsx for having your gibberish on here :p )

The only thing missing there in the second vid is some gravel rattle sound effects. You got the tire screech from the asphalt but as soon as you hit the gravel, nothing.

Looks fun though :D

If only I could get it working with my wheel.
I can use my wheel but it has never detected it as a wheel and because of that the 'ffb' is only vibration like that you would get on a controller. It's a real shame because I love the concept behind this game.

I'm fortunate that I have never had any issues with VR and nausea or anything like that. Regardless of whether playing flight sims, racing sims, echo arena with all axis unlocked etc. I know I would have no problem whatsoever but I don't think that's the norm.

With that said some people like myself seem better suited to vr than others. I've introduced quite a few people to VR. The lucky ones never have issues or only slight issues and the unlucky ones either say 'never again' or they keep trying until they get their VR legs.

I think even you would probably be able to get used to it if you push past the nausea by playing multiple ~15 minute sessions over the course of several days to get your VR legs. Who knows why some people have an easier time but I think everyone is capable of getting used to even the crazier stuff like flight and racing sims.

Is controller or wheel preferable for wreckfest? For some reason, the game will not save the settings for my csw 2.5 when I exit the game, but even then when I do set up the wheel, the steering doesn't feel right.

Manual shifting with a controller doesn't feel right either

For me the wheel is a lot better.
Csw 2.5 too. I had the saving bug too once, funnily all buttons would be saved but not the axis...

About "doesn't feel right". What were your settings?
I didn't play it in a long time but I had:
900°, 60% FF, for/spr/dpr 100, 90-100 fei, dri at -2.

In the game I had the strength at 100.
It's important to put the saturation to 50!!!
Otherwise the steering won't be 1:1 but some weird sluggish something.

Excuse me while I put on my fire suit.

Running 360° on my CSW 2.5 for Wreckfest.

Ive got FEI at 000, My understanding is that anything over 000 reduces detail, so 90-100 will be having a significant effect.

It's the opposite. 100 does nothing, the further you go down, the smoother it will be.
I normally use 100 but when I get too much flatspotting in rf2, I lower it down the worse it gets.

360° and then the saturation at default?
Then, Afaik, it's basically 720°.
But anyway, I'd say 300-600° are fine!
Saturation at 40-50 with 900° feels the same though.

Edit: your link is some beta from 2017 for the csl elite base. FEI is differently for csl and csw!

Here's the part from the csw 2.5 manual:

"6.3.8 FEI (Force Effect Intensity)
FEI range: OFF … 100 FEI default: 100
This parameter adjusts the intensity of force effects and can make effects more
smooth: OFF is very smooth and low noise while 100 is very sharp and direct.
Tuning this parameter can improve the feeling of the wheel depending on the
game. This can be helpful to reduce the noise level especially for bases assem-
bled to tables or rigs."

Can you tell me your saturation value? I didn't drive for a bit of time so don't know if things might have changed..
720 with default should be around my 900° and then saturation at 65%

In 90 min :) Gotta wait for the other person sharing my desk to finish the work-day (working from home ftw...) before I connect my wheel. (As I think the wheel must be connected to see this, right?).
