Which mods affect online races.

Discussion in 'F1 2011 - The Game' started by LFCsmithy, Oct 8, 2011.

  1. Basically, id like to know which mods ie....skins, liveries, AI faster, more damage etc etc would affect my ability to play this online.
Id love to add some of the great mods but worried that it will mess up my online game. For example.....On F1 2010 i added various mods, then i noticed that i was unable to play online anymore. I got to the part where youre sitting in the car ready to pull out of the garage to go to the grid. Then i would get disconected !!!! It happened everytime i tried to have a race online.
I dont wanna add mods to 2011 if it means i lose online play.

    Many thanks

    I agree with you.
I asked that modders notify this ...
I do not despair that we are heard.
  3. Any mod that effects gameplay will get you banned from online.
So any tyre grip mods, AI mods ect.

Anything that changes the camera angle, improves tyre looks are fine.

    No you didn't cheat.

As Christopher said above. Any mods that changes the cameras for the cockpit, TCam etc. are OK. Any visual mod is OK, that includes helmets, car skins, tyre textures, track textures, track lighting, and HUD changes.

Mods that change AI behaviour, track or tyre grip (database changes), will prevent you from joining an online lobby or prevent you joining the actual race, I can't remember which one, but either way you can't use them online.
  6. Let´s say I´d play with a friend who uses the same mod settings. Would we be able to play online together?
  7. Probably not. They prolly use a checksum or something similar to determine that you have the correct files in your directory, if not, then online is not allowed. Dont think it matters if you have the same as your opposition.
