What's the fastest you've ever gone in your vehicle?

I had an MR 2 a few years back, and on public roads i have only done (cough) 70 mph, but i had a chance once, (through totally legal means((cough cough))), and done 145mph, which scared the hell outta me as the front of the car and the steering was becoming very light and skittish,

The engine felt it had a lot more to go, but i felt that if i did go faster, im going to end up leaving a right ol' mess on the road!

I have one favourite part of highway where I'm doing 240 kph in my BMW E39 528i on speedo, so about 230 kph. Also kinda annoying when once, I've reached S63 AMG on highway doing about 200 kph and I started to overtake him, he looked at me through side window, smiled, and just nailed it and dissappeared...

Average 156mph in a dumbed down indy car at Las Vegas Speedway for my 40th birthday :)
I have never been so excited and miserable(that it was over and I couldn't afford/race one for real) at the same time !
(and sorry I know it's not my own car )

Haha yes some nostalgic JDM cars are worth a premium overseas, here in AUS we can directly import any Japanese car and comply it to run on our roads which usually means they're much cheaper. I only paid $17,000AUD for mine with 98,000kms on the clock, what a bargain!.

Wow really? 50.000EUR for a R32. $8.000 to 12.000 CDN or 5.800 to 8.800 EUR depending on condition of car..

2009 R35 GTR sells for @ $70.000 CDN, @ 51.000 EUR.

I'm going to stop complaining about cars being too expensive in Canada.

My fault... Sorry! I was thinking of the R35, which is called Nissan GT-R here. And the R32 is the Skyline I believe?
So, I want the R35 so badly.
But your prices seem rather equal to ours.

there have been a few times where i've gotten up to 180km/h in my father's Impreza WRX. having done that speed in that car, i think i can safely say that it is capable of easily going 200-220km/h without even breaking a sweat. and this is not even an STI i'm talking about, it's a completely normal WRX without any modifications at all!

the scary thing is, is that you don't even feel the speed at all even doing almost 200km/h in that car! i could've been going 80km/h and it would've felt exactly the same to me!

About 180kmh in a Ford Focus wagon. Top speed of this, it was in Germany. Different roads, A3, A7 and A31 come to mind.

In the Netherlands the fastest I've done must be 150-160 on the A73, A32 and A7..

Oh Man! the 2013 GTR and the Corvette are ridiculously overpriced, wow!

$113.000 here for the same 2013 GTR, not sure about pricing for the Corvette but i'm guessing the ZR1 will be around $140.000

Here a 2007/08 Lamborghini Murchielago LP640 sells for @ $218.000

A 2013 Aston Martin V8 Vantage coupe sells for $184.000

It's mainly the CO2-tax ;)...
The V8 Vantage costs €178,834
Can't find a used Lambo LP640..

The Corvette has CO2 emission of 355 grams/km
Everything below 111grams doesn't cost anything..
Everything between 111 and 180 costs €95 per gram. 70*95 = €6650
Everything between 181 and 270 costs €286 per gram. 90*286 = €25,740
Everthing from 271 to unlimited costs €667 per gram. 85 * 667 = €56,695
Total CO2-tax is €89085

So without CO2-tax the ZR1 would cost €129,310

What does a Tesla Roadster cost in Canada? Since it doesn't have CO2-tax here, the price should be almost equal..
Here it's €99,960 http://www.autoweek.nl/auto/60418/tesla-roadster
