I can't say that I'm interested in a DLC which adds yet more duplicate cars... how about something new, PD?

As for the patch, there are a couple of interesting looking features. Being able to see the affect of the various work done in GT Auto is a nice addition and very overdue. I'm also interested to know they mean by 'racing sound affect' (note it's singular, not plural), and what they're doing to it.

What about all of those great tracks from GT4? Surely, seeing as they're already modeled, it would not be so hard to get them in? I, for one, don't mind if the graphics aren't completely up-to-date, but even re-texturing the tracks couldn't be THAT hard (I assume, correct me if I'm wrong modders :))

I'm sure PD can pull it off. What would really be nice to see is far more world known tracks than what GT has now. Like the tracks we see in our other sims. If i saw that, i just may re-consider replacing my PS and buying GT5 again.

It's not a perfect solution, but if you have £15 to spare and decent PC then you can capture GT5 (and other) game footage easily enough. All you need is something like this USB capture device. You won't get HD quality out of it, but it does the job well.

(If you have the money you could also get a full internal capture card for you PC which would allow much higher quality. They come at a price though.)

The only genuinely 'new' car in the pack is the Scirocco... unless there's a standard version in the game already which I haven't seen. I just don't get it. There are so many manufacturers in this game which have made some top quality cars... yet all they give us it tarted up duplicates. Waste of time and money.

Very true, but streetversions of supercars sound mostly better then raceversions. With race exhaust they don't bother much about the sound. It's all about speed. Wish I could play some PC simracers. The sounds of the teaser of GTR3 gave me shivers! I imagine the sound will be much better then in GT5. But I must say: the engine sound in GT5 is way better then earlier versions of Gran Turismo...

Can't comment on the previous GTs. I have one of them for PS2, though I barely played it since I didn't have a PS2 compatible wheel back then. Some of GT5's sounds are actually rather good, but the 'tuned' exhausts are horrible. If they were made properly for each car (almost impossible I know) they'd probably be ok, but their affect is generic and just doesn't work well for most engine sounds.

PC sims often do sound better though, to be honest. Most of the cars in GTR 2 sound great, as do the cars in GT Legends. Of course, there is no PC sim that has hundreds of unique cars that all sound different, so you have to give GT5 some credit I suppose.

The update is available now. The change log has been altered slightly since the announcement.

And the 'Racing sound affect adjustment'? As far as I can tell, all they've done is add a horrible wind noise effect when driving at high speed. It sounds like you're driving down the motorway with the sun roof open. Needs to be removed or there needs to be an option to disable it, because it's just plain crap.
