TRD HH3 - A fictional 3-wheeler track toy

The TRD HH3 is a fictional three-wheeler. Equipped with a modified Triumph 1200cc Inline Triple engine, active aero, single seater position and a very lightweight package, this vehicle is a great track-toy.

Why this “thing”?
I wanted to learn as much as possible about the sim’s physics. For that, I got into suspension and other animations, active aero and also attempted the 3-wheeler

Overall, it was quite a fun experience and I’ve learned some cool stuff that I can use for future...

I hope you keep working on this, the idea is very neat.
I noticed you use a DWB setup for the rear, which is fine, but you should rather use a solid axle setup. AXLE will not only couple the 2 rear wheels together, but also behave like a trailing arm that it should be. Check the Kunos Escort for a reference for setting up AXLE geometry. Keep in mind this change will radically change the kinematics of your car, so you will have to adjust the setup quite a lot after it.

I tried using the AXLE for the rear, but I felt it was too rigid and didn't really like the driving, so I went for a modified DWB
Nonetheless, my intentions are to give it another shot and try to make it work, but I think it will take some time to polish
For the first update, I want to have custom sounds and tweak a bit of the aero (I noticed one of the LUTs for the rear wing is completely wrong). On the next update I will focus more on the suspensions and driving physics
Also, thanks for suggesting the Escort! I will 100% take a look at it

If you need any help setting up the AXLE or a trailing arm DWB setup, whichever you end up using, feel free to message me here on RD as I am one of the few who has worked on 3-wheelers for AC before. I personally suggest trying an AXLE setup again though due to it being the more accurate option out of the 2.

Great! Thanks for offering to help

iballobar13 updated TRD HH3 with a new update entry:

TRD HH3 (V1.0)

This update includes new custom sounds as well as a new rear suspension setup, to better represent the swingarm on the rear of the car.
The car's overall speed is roughly the same. The driving is a bit different now: it's gained stability on fast corners (mostly due to an incorrect LUT in the previous version), and it's a bit more unstable at low speeds, specially during weight transition from on-off braking.
Overall, it still doesn't enjoy bumpy tracks.

CHANGELOG V1.0

Aero:

Hello!

Just downloaded and made a quick test and I like a lot; it's something unusual and fun to drive. In the graphics aspect it's very well made, apart some minor details that always can be improved, but... the sound.

In my humble opinion (and that's subjective, as all the opinions, and of course, I could be wrong), the sound doesn't help to achieve the sensation of speed that this "carbike" (I don't know how to name it :p) is capable to achieve... I have find some videos of this motor and it sounds very similar, but the mod sound lacks some more "punch", now is very... "flat", don't know how to explain... Don´t know if it could also be because I don't perceive the exterior sound of the wind as I increase speed, which always helps with immersion.

As always, thanks for share and keep with the good work!

Thanks for taking some time and leaving your feedback!

Yeah, I recognise the sound is a bit meh and could be improved. It's the first time I've worked on a sound mod, so I didn't have high expectations

I'm considering recording the sound from my bike (Street Triple RS, this engine's "little brother"). I just need to find time to do it now: I've started a new job, next week I return to classes at uni and I've got more mod projects in progress, so it's a bit difficult to work on everything at the same time.

Maybe it will take a long while but I hope I can make it work :)

TRD HH3 V1.04

This is probably the second to last update of this car, the last one will be a new engine sound (it will probably take a while to happen though)

TRD HH3, CHANGELOG V1.04

Cameras:
- Tweaked some of the cameras position (I think it was changed on a previous version)

Visuals:
- Changed Carbon shader parametres again, as reexporting the Chain Blur in the previous
update lost the changes done to the shader

Aero:
- Added a wing for the front and rear doors in "aero.ini". They massively...

iballobar13 updated TRD HH3 with a new update entry:

TRD HH3 V1.1

Possibly the final update for the car (with the exception of big bugs or simillar). I have added new engine sounds apart from minor tweaks. Also updated the car's skins, so I recommend re-downloading the 9 missing ones if you have them: (https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/trd-hh3-9-skins.65872/)

I'm not 100% happy with the new sounds, but I think they're better (and better balanced) than the old ones. I don't think I'll update them again unless I've missed something big...
