These aren't what we are after. The whole point of the edit a circuit round is that the original circuit is a base and we redesign it, rather than moving it to a completely new plot. Keep some of the original circuit, but mess around with it.

Berlin was the whole city. The city round gives you free rein of the whole city. The circuit round is for you to edit the circuit using bits of the circuit in use now and the surrounding area.

i do both. But when i do manually i just draw on areas were you actually can drive

Ok, this probably needs more explaining. For the redesign a circuit, you are assuming that the circuit needs changing shape and this can be done by adding and removing tarmac and walls. The track gets re-paved to create a new layout, using some of the existing circuit and other bits nearby to change the layout. A bit like the redesign on Hockenheim or Silverstone.
In answer to the other question, I used automatic for some bits because luckily, the abu dhabi circuit has been added as a road, and other parts are done manually. This means I can keep bits I like and add in fancy twiddles on other parts.

Freely go over grass and walls, but keep some of the aspects of the current circuit. You are allowed to go over grass, gravel and walls on the circuit round. sigman got the right idea.
