No. He did only do a make over. You know, Österreichring.

Not a single corner from the old Osterreichring was left. Only the start/finish straight remains.

In some way the new Hockenheim is closer to the old one than A1-Ring is to the Osterreichring. I mean, Tilke didn't dare touching to the Stadium at least.

The A-1 Ring is what the redesigned track was called :wink: The old, fast circuit was called the Osterreichring.

Actually they used quite a bit of the old track for the straights and just changed where the corners were. Here is a picture of the 2 layouts over each other:

And the Ost... A... Red Bull Ring is back. I'm looking forward to the DTM race there! 5th June!
