When going for the ultimate best lap you need to be very close to the boarder everywhere. It's extremely hard to judge from the cockpit if your tyres are still on the white line (legal) or a few inches outside the line (illegal). What matters is the right intention.
So if the intention was to do that perfect boarder line lap without cutting, I think those very view inches that make the lap theoreticaly illegal didn't have such a big impact to make it the best lap. So I wouldn't worry too much David.
We just need to give ourself a bit more safety margins in the race so we don't get into a situation to cut unintentional too often. Slight cuts are supposed to happen, especially in traffic, when we have no clear view and dirty air. Then It's up to everyone's own responsibility not to benefit from it. But I know that's no tricky thing to handle for us.
