Drivers Briefing:

​

Welcome to round 1 of the RaceDepartment Rally championship Season 3, The Rally Norway. The first round is our only snow event for the season. Tyre choice is very easy with snow tyres being the only real option.

There are a couple of new features this season, the first being the introduction os a new BTB stage, Dead Head found in the Sweden Stage pack. This stage is quite short and mainly fast. The pacenotes seam to be good, but make sure you don't g anywhere that looks like water, the limits have not been set and you will fall into nothing making th e only option retiring from the stage. Care should be taken over the very big jump early in the stage as the road weaves after the jump making the landing important.

The Mlynky Snow stage is being used again for this round. After some issues last season, this stage has been tested by myself and seams to run fine, however with all BTB stages I suggest ALL drivers try them and report any issues early so the Director can make changes. For those that don't like to practice, sellecting a lower spec car (N1 or 2 car packs as a suggestion) and driving them at road pace will represent a true recce situation as in real life. It will at least show any loading or lagging issues and incorrect pacenotes.

We are using the Snow Mod for the first run of the original RBR stages. The only real difference I have noticed is visual making the stages seam slightly more dirty than last season. On the second pass of the second days stages we move to the Mixed Mod to represent stages that have been driven over by a full field of cars, turning the snow to slush and mud. These stages offer different grip and may be slightly rougher. Care should be taken as it will change the way you will have to drive them.

The Dusk and Night Mode will also be used during the rally for the Mustaselka, Mlynky and Kaihuvaara stages. This mode does effect how much you can see, so good pacenotes or knowledge of the stages will show in your times.
