Hello all.

As is customary, I will be starting to trail the next RDHCS season while still in the middle of the current one.

This time though, the process will be slightly accelerated, because we have a shorter break between seasons as we adjust to our timetable that avoids the peak Summer Holiday season and the Christmas/New Year break. This allows more people to compete in more rounds without absences.

There are just 6 weeks between Season 9 finishing & Season 10's Test event and so, as I'm aware that some of you like to have some extended testing time on the cars, I'll be announcing the final S10 vehicle list between Rounds 4 (23/10) & 5 (6/11) of this season. That will give you all around 3 months before the S10 Test event (29/01) to take them out, shake them down, spin then round, light them up, or whatever verb + preposition combo you like best.

I suspect that you will need the time to do your due diligence, as we have (deliberately) kept the vehicle carset quite large for S10, hopefully to provide even more variety and make the already tricky choice that much harder.

The last thing that will be released will be the finalised track list, as we are still compiling that at the moment, so you won't have the full 3 months of testing the League cars on the League tracks.

As finalised details emerge, those details will be formally posted in the (yet to be created) S10 Intro & Info Thread, and this thread will metamorphosise into the S10 General Chat thread as we get past the end of S9. Until things are finalised, everything I say in here and should be filed under a "provisional" banner.

As always, there is to be no talk of laptimes, relative speeds etc. either before the vehicle confirmation while you are speculating, or after confirmation when you are testing.

Here are the details I can release now:-

Nominal Season Class: GTC-65 (I say nominal, as there may be cars that are unbalanced in their own class that match up well in this set).
Number of Available Vehicles: 9
Default to mod ratio: 4:5
Rounds: 8
Format: 100km (200km finale)

Vehicle set teasers:
3 of the 9 cars have appeared in previous Seasons run by me (not necessarily in the same season as each other).
2 of the 9 cars have models in the Current season.
There is 600kg between the lightest and heaviest cars in the S10 car set.
The most powerful car has nearly 3x the power of the weakest
1 of the 9 cars has never been used by RD in any event (yet).
There are 5 different manufacturing nations represented in the car set

Nice one Stuart (and Knut & anyone else that helped). That's a big field of cars! I'm guessing we'll see the Vette and maybe the Escorts re-appearing (were there 65 Escorts?), and maybe Elans & 911's.

This is my serious "neither confirming nor denying" face.

WOOOHOOO! Can't wait to see what the mad scientists cooked up...9 cars!!
Last GTC65 I drove the Daytona, this time I'm going for something that handles a bit better.
I'm kinda hoping for the Ferrari 275 or 250 :p

I'm guessing the 5 nations will be UK, USA, Germany, Italy and maybe France or Japan.

Oh Thommo, you are a tease! :geek::roflmao::thumbsup:

**EDIT** Thinking about the countries, how many other places made cars that could be raced in the 60's? I can only think of Australia.

Hey! Daytona handles good! I'm not saying that "simple", but "good". Maybe you just didn't understand it. :)

9 cars! Oh boy! So much time to test. But It's wonderful! Maybe for me, choising process before each season it's a best part of the season. As I like to try all cars and feel their diversity and special features.

Probably, this will get me no more than a serious face, and some laughter in a few weeks seeing how wrong I was, but here's my highly uneducated guess:

1. '65 Corvette; related to current league car, used before in a league, default, from USA
2. some other Escort version; related to current league car, not used before in a league but in a club race probably (there's plenty of Escorts around), mod car, from UK
3. Lotus Elan, not used before in a league AFAIK, default, from UK
4. Porsche 911S, used before in a league, mod car, from Germany
5. Mercedes 300SL, not used before in a league AFAIK, default car, from Germany
6. Ferrari 250 GTO, not used before in a league AFAIK, mod car, from Italy
7. Volkswagen Scirocco, not raced before here at RD AFAIK, mod car, from Germany
8. Either of the Shelby's, used before in a league, default car, from USA
9. Mazda RX-3 or Nissan KGC-110, not used before in a league AFAIK, mod car, from Japan.

I'm a bit puzzled about the power and weight ratio clues though...

Well, well, well.

It seems that Knut & I are way better at this League-setting-up gig than we assumed we were. I thought we'd never get the track list done before the end of November, but it turns out that we got it sorted and locked in this weekend just gone. We've even gone and got them in order to form our schedule.

The only thing we don't have yet are the Test Event venues, but they are not hugely important, as they'll just be 2 tracks at the extremes of track type - one for the power, so people can set their gearings up, and one twisty-turny to help with the handling tweakage.

As such, I suppose I can begin the track teasers as well now, just to thoroughly confuse the lot of you, and be aware that nothing below refers to Test Event tracks - this is all about the Race venues only:

1. None of these specific tracks have featured in previous League seasons, although an alternative version of one has.
2. One of the tracks has appeared in one of our "single make" series
3. As at the date I'm writing this, 5 of 8 tracks have been used in Club events
4. 2 of 8 tracks require the "gdb fix" to work correctly on an online lapcount race - which we will provide.
5. The longest track is over 2x the length of the shortest
6. None of the 8 Race venues is a default track.
7. 3 of the 8 tracks are "Fantasy" tracks, 2 of which actually specify where they are situated. The other "location" will be assigned by us.
8. The highest lapcount is not the enduro, but Round 5, with 32 laps.
9. We go to 4 continents in our schedule - 1 of which thanks to point 7 above.

Hope that helps.
