RDGTC Sign Ups Open.jpg

Our first ever RaceRoom Racing Experience league is fast approaching, and with just 2 weeks until sign ups close you better act fast if you want to be part of RDGTC season Seven.

Using the incredible selection of cars that form the GT3 collection within R3E, the RaceDepartment GT Championship (RDGTC) will be the very first fully fledged racing league using RaceRoom Racing Experience we have run here at RaceDepartment.

Consisting of sixty grid spots across two divisions, the championship will make use of the 13 different GT3 models from eight iconic GT brands available within RaceRoom.

What is RDGTC?
The RaceDepartment Grand Touring Championship is our premium racing series for single class endurance style GT3 racing vehicles.

Unlike our RDLMS by Vesaro multiclass championship, RDGTC will consist of a field of drivers all using the same class of car (GT3), and the races themselves, whilst still remaining endurance events, will be a little shorter in length coming in at 90 minutes and will be single driver races without the need for driver swops. Shorter, sharper and no doubt harder fought than longer races, RDGTC will give our drivers the ultimate test of outright speed and endurance in a series that punishes mistakes and rewards the brave and the bold out on the circuit.

How do I sign up?
We have 60 places to fill for the upcoming season, spread across two splits of 30 drivers per division fighting it out for overall honours.

Pre-qualification will consist of a short blast around the beautiful Anderstorp circuit on September 24th 2017 using the Ford GT GT3 (car excluded from the main series). To register for the pre qualifying event you will need to submit your details on our Sign Up Thread, ensure you have a Premium membership and turn up and have fun!!

Where are we planning to race?
We have a short calendar of just four 90 minute races running from Sunday 8th October to Sunday 19th November. Each race will take place on Sunday evening and the event schedule will begin at 18:00 GMT for 30 minutes of free practice. Matching our standard Club Racing format we will then head off for 30 minutes of qualification from 18:30GMT before moving directly to a 90 minute endurance sprint at 19:00GMT.

As for the tracks, we will be taking in a selection of some of the best known and high profile racing locations anywhere in the world. The opening fight of RDGTC Season Seven will see us head over to the home of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone using the Formula One layout of the circuit, before we shoot off for a stop over in Germany at the Nürburgring GP track. Round three will see Monza entertain our drivers in what is sure to be a closely fought slip stream battle before the season ending event at Spa-Francorchamps round off what we expect to be a spectacular period of racing action.

Which cars can I choose from?
RaceRoom Racing Experience boasts a delightful selection of GT3 specification cars that all have their own unique handling and performance traits and characteristics. Featuring many of the major brands from the world of GT racing, we are delighted to be able to use these beautiful cars in our new championship. Unlike previous running's of RDGTC this season things will have a bit of a unique twist, rather than testing each car for hours on end and picking out the machine you feel best gives you an advantage over your rivals, we will be selecting one for you!

Due to the absence of custom skins in RaceRoom Racing Experience we have opted to go for a unique approach where all drivers will be assigned an exclusive car brand and skin. During an exciting pre-qualification event a decision will be made who drives in which exotic GT3 car from the GTR 3 Pack.

Here are the cars that will form our RDGTC Season 7 grid:
  • Audi R8 LMS Ultra
  • BMW Alpina B6 GT3
  • BMW M6 GT3
  • BMW Z4 GT3
  • Bentley Continental GT3
  • Chevrolet Camaro GT3
  • Chevrolet Corvette Z06.R GT3
  • Ford GT GT3 (The designated car for all drivers to be used only during pre-qualification
  • Ford Mustang GT3
  • McLaren 650S GT3
  • McLaren MP4-12C GT3
  • Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3
  • Nissan GT-R GT3
  • RUF RT12R GTR3
Will it be broadcast live?
Yes! We will be making use of the excellent broadcast facilities available in RaceRoom Racing Experience to bring you professionally presented live broadcasts from each of the four race season.

Streamed both on our main website and through our growing YouTube channel, RDGTC will look and sound absolutely fantastic. With that in mind it will be up to the drivers to make sure the on track product is just as good as the presentation behind the screen...

Don't forget to get yourselves over to our Sign Up thread and get your name down for a place on the grid for our very first RaceRoom Racing Experience league here at RaceDepartment.com! We still have some places available for those willing to commit themselves to one of the most competitive GT3 endurance racing series in sim racing today...

Love sim racing? We do too... get yourselves signed up and enjoy one of the best ways to race in RaceRoom Racing Experience and the excellent GT3 specification of cars....

Good luck to everyone on this, have fun :)

I did want to do this league but I'm at a running event during the Silverstone round so couldn't make the whole season. If the "all round" requirement gets dropped for some reason I'll do as many races as I can.

However great to see the GT league return and hope everyone has a great season!
