P.O.R.N. youtube template.jpg

no new download for now, just an update on the current progress:
I´ve finished all the final tweaks to all the stages supported by the Czech Tournament PlugIn. But I´ve decided to release these final changes along with a full Rallysimfans PlugIn implementation as one big update, that is going to be the 3.00 platform for future tweaks and updates.
As to the progress of the implementation for the RallysimFans PlugIn, unfortunately it is not a simple copy paste task. But the remarkable thing is my mod and the Hu PlugIn really mesh together perfectly: They found a way to force stages to load weather conditions they initially were not programmed for. But by achieving this they, in a way, painted themselves in a corner, forcing RBR to load some default weather settings, to not crash on loading. These default weather settings are a "one size fits some", causing some weird visual results like the one shown below:

RichardBurnsRally_SSE 2021-11-25 17-48-43.jpg

these default weather settings that RBR uses (not just in the rallysimfans PlugIn by the way) are set to be used with the default RBR stages. And since the default RBR stages use very different light settings, these default settings don´t necessarily work with the modded stages, causing these ugly over brightened blue-ish colors in the (semi)distance and usually generally over brightened images.
Since P.O.R.N. features settings for all available downloadable stages and greatly enhanced the variety of weather settings for each stage, it is filling all the holes of missing weather settings in the RallySimFans PlugIn. So without even trying P.O.R.N. is going to "fix" pretty much all the lighting issues that the HU PlugIn still has left (while adding specifically designed particle mods to each stage)
And P.O.R.N. even offers a lot more weather conditions than the HU PlugIn currently supports, that would only need to be "unlocked" by the plugin. (HU PlugIn offers 7 different weather conditions each stage, including night, compared to the 11 different weather conditions P.O.R.N. offers.)
In return P.O.R.N. benefits greatly from the Hu PlugIn approach: there is no need for fiddling around with different files to combat possible online issues (Default, Mixed, Online for the Czech PlugIn). Within the Hu PlugIn P.O.R.N. needs only one initial installation (copy&paste) and no more maintenance or worries after that.

TL;DR P.O.R.N. and RallySimFans PlugIn work greatly together!

Lastly I want to state there is no official collaboration between my doing and the guys behind RallysimFans, (or the Czech PlugIn guys) although I´d be happy to work together in the future.

Hi Pedro! Great that you're doing the files for RSF also. There is one problem, we are changing the way tracks are loaded very soon (within a few weeks) and your work may go a little wasted if you continue it all the way right now. We are developing the split LBS track loading system and the way original format tracks are loaded will change a little. Come to discord, we are very open to collaborating with you, it's a bit easier than this forum: I'll leave you a link: https://discord.gg/pQ4vJvR

Hi, I am asking you to exclude our stages from your mod - I mean all Biskupice, upcoming Helfstyn BTB conversion, and all the future tracks we are going to release.
Our intention is to bring the community as realistic results as possible and if mods like this would become any more popular, we wouldn't be able to achieve that anymore.

Yep, no worries, will do. I just got off the RBR+ forum after replying to your comment. My offer still stands though.

Ah good to know, thanks for reaching out! I was hoping to get a hold of one of you to discuss some details regarding the plugin and how I might apply my files without causing any issues with your files. Will join you on the discord.

Hi man!
I have followed your link and downloaded the rar, but it seems it is version 2.0 (RBR P.O.R.N. 2.0.rar) and the more recent file is dated from Aug!
Is your link correct?
Thanks!

This sounds like these people being upset that their software is packaged in some package manager like chocolatey or nix, which is a form of gate-keeping. And gate-keeping shouldn't be respected, no matter what's the underlying ~~delusion~~ reasoning is, because diversity paves the way to evolution, both literally and figuratively.

But what made me write this comment is not even that. I'm writing to point out that the particle effects in P.O.R.N. are significantly more consistent with the WRC footage than vanilla / current default of particle effects. One can complain about saturation, bloom and everything else as much as they can, but the particle effects alone are a huge leap forward for the realism, so I ask you -- with little respect -- please reconsider.

new version 3.00 is out. And yes, I just figured it out myself: when downloading any of the versions they would still be displayed as 2.0 in the OneDrive download.

Now with version 3.00 out, all future iterations will be displayed as 3.0. That´s just how I set up OneDrive, for a more convenient handling for me. It also makes sure that ALL links ever posted to the download will always be up to date. So you can always be sure to get the latest version, no matter what download link you are cklicking.
What version you are actually running will be displayed inside the game (see manual for that). What version you are about to install will be displayed in the changelog.

The way I see it, as the quality of my results improve, even more people will get around liking, even supporting or at least not actively not-supporting, my mod or add on or whatever you wanna call it. With the latest version of 3.00, that introduces a no-reshade base installation and a total of 4 quality settings, more people will get the opportunity to fine tune the look to their liking, with the quality of the particles being a solid base.
I reached out several times to the author of the blocked stages but to no success so far. So for now, there is nothing I can do to address his issues directly.

But with the upcoming implementation of version 3.00 in its SOFT P.O.R.N. version (no-reshade use) into the Rallysimfans PlugIn, there is already plenty of support going around. While I was busy lately finishing version 3.00, the guys over at the RSF PlugIn managed to open up their software (internally) to the P.O.R.N. weather settings, which in turn, opens the door to implementing the P.O.R.N. particles.
So the focus for the near future is going to shift to conversing SOFT P.O.R.N. 3.0 to the RSF PlugIn.

Sorry, let me expand on that a little. This sentence is something that only "sounds good", like in a politicians speech but has no real value...

What I mean by that is, that I haven´t planned on building a "no-reshade mode" initially. The re-shades were a necessary means to get some of the stages, especially older ones, up to par to the top quality stages. Additionally the reshades were necessary, in some parts, to blend over some flaws of some of the stages. So to raise the overall quality, I had to make a lot of compromises over the 240+ stages, regarding the reshade settings (that now became the +, ++ and +++ quality settings in version 3.0).
But the concerns mostly thrown at me were regarding the looks of the reshades. Which is a very sensible concern, by the way. So listening to them, I digged deeper and invested another couple of months into a dedicated no-reshade base version of P.O.R.N. which is now the default installation of version 3.0. So, to tie it back to the beginning of this post, addressing these concerns objectively raised the quality of this thing here, and therefore opened up the potential acceptance from a whole different audience.

The biggest driving factor in that was actually the interest of the RSF guys in only a base version of P.O.R.N. (let me repeat the notion that RSF is NOT yet supported though, but will be in the future)

Lastly, I actively encourage stage creators to come up with their own particles for their stages. Or "activate" someone (like me) to do them for them, so the authors can be included in the visuals of the particles, rather than me swooping in after the fact. There are a couple of additional fancy things that could be done, with the particles already in mind, during the stage creation,
With the 160+ particle mods of P.O.R.N., I´m filling a so far very rudimentally addressed hole, that surprisingly existed for 17 years.

all videos are down, right now. the download links are still working though.

probably the name of the mod struck again...
(the issue is being resolved as I type, hopefully)

The issues with youtube have been resolved. The channel and all videos are back online.

Even though I now have permission from youtube to use the name of the mod as is (and mention and discuss "porn" hundreds of times in the comments...), I´m going to change the name to avoid further complications in the future with other platforms and possible collaborations.

----------------------version 3.00 040222 -------------------------

I highly recommend reading the manual and/or at least watching the tutorial video below. Really. I mean it. Installation is incredibly easy but you need to know what you have to do to set it up correctly.

RBR P.L.U.S. 3.00 - DOWNLOAD (654mb)
(including retextures, manual)
(NOTE: THIS VERSION DOES NOT YET SUPPORT the Rallysimfans PlugIn)

RBR P.L.U.S. 3.00 no retextures - DOWNLOAD (114mb)
Manual - DOWNLOAD
(the manual is included in the downloads. This serves just as a preview to assess the effort needed, before you start downloading the 654mb large file)

Updated Tutorial Video for version 3.00+:

------------------------
Quickest Installation Guide:

Pre-Requisites:
- RBR Tournament Plug In or similar to use custom tracks
- Pacenote Plugin
- all stages you want to use beforehand (not mandatory but recommended)
- reshade.me in (its base installation not mandatory anymore)

Installation:
- Extract the archive in your RBR main directory and run the installer or click the readme.

In-game:
NumPad 0 = turns the reshade.me window on and off
NumPad 5 = toggles effect on/off
Numad 4= previous reshade
NumPad 6= next reshade
Ctr+L = turns headlights on/off
Alt+L = alternative headlights for cockpit view

Pacenote Plugin console: double right click with your mouse to change seat position, to adjust headlights, then save

This is pretty much all you need to install and use the mod. For more information read the manual/watch the tutorial.
-------------------------------

What this mod does:
-
this mod will add 160+ single particle mods to your game, adjusted to the respective stages, RBR original ones, and all the currently available stages in the classic format, added over the past 17 years (to make a total of roughly 240 stages as of now). The particles are adjusted to match the surfaces in look, color, and "feel".

- This process involved adjusting the weather settings of RBR because they play an essential role in the color schemes of the particles and overall lighting. More, and more pronounced weather conditions, have been added to all stages. Roughly it comes out as 11 different weather conditions for each stage, each with sunny, cloudy, hazy, rainy, foggy and night conditions

- To further enhance the contrasts, saturation and lighting of the overall look of RBR, reshade.me files will be installed in your RBR root folder. The mod comes with 4 quality settings. In its initial installation it will be set to its lowest quality setting (SOFT), optimized for use without reshade (but comes with an optional basic reshade nontheless)

- I retextured the original RBR stages of Australia, USA, Japan and Great Britain and altered the ones of France and Finland. Retextures are completely optional.
Here are some before and after comparisons of the stock RBR look and the P.L.U.S. effects

Applying the mod with its installer, will automatically back up some essential files for you. If you choose to install manually (copy&paste), make sure to back up your Tracks.ini and TrackSettings.ini file.
To uninstall this mod, use the uninstaller in the mods main folder (_P.O.R.N.) or simply delete all files added by the mod and replace the Tracks.ini and TrackSettings.ini inside your Maps folder, with your backed up files.

Future Plans:
seperate downloads for the Hungarian/Rallysimfans PlugIn (different stage IDs)
finding a successor to continue this mod before I´m done with simracing eventually
Hey Don, when do you think a realistic time is for you to release a version with support for the RSF Plugin? Is it planned soon or quite a bit down the line? I'd like to use this with the RSF version of RBR but can't do it quite yet obviously. Thanks in advance

Only just learned about this project – just wanted to share my enthusiasm for this project (looks incredible!!). And as a RallySimFans user, I'm excited to hear (when you're ready) about any progress that's been made towards a no-ReShade RallySimFans version :)
