Racer v0.8.13 for Intel Mac [download]

Does not work on Intel MacBook Core2Duo w/ Intel GMA 950 GPU

Hi,
unfortunately your port does not work on my system (MacBook Core2Duo 2GHz, GPU: Intel GMA 950, OS: Mac OS X 10.6.6), so I'm stuck with v0.5.4.3 (quite old, but runs smoothly apart from issues of little importance).
Launching the main Racer application always results in an exception such as "Exception 0xC0000005, flags 0, Address 0x00000000" (I got the same behaviour attempting to run the ordinary Windows beta through the traditional WineHQ way).
I'd like to use moddeler.exe (not bundled with the standard Mac beta) but while trying to import a DOF file the same exception window described above pops up (QLOG shows that modeler is unable to find model shaders that do exist).
At least curved.exe does work correctly on my MacBook. It also worked through WineHQ though.

I'm aware my laptop is quite old and, as warned, this port is expected to work with either nVidia or ATI GPUs, not with Intel GMAs. I dropped these lines just for the record.
Since I like Racer very much, it would be nice to run something newer and more complete than v0.5.4.3 (I know it's not easy to provide such compatibility...).

Anyhow... thanks for your remarkable effort to bring the latest Racer beta to the Mac OS X platform!

Yes, running games throw WINE (& Cider) seem to have higher hardware reqs than a native port would,; I still have the v0.5.4.3 on my computer along with this beta (ya think racer will ever get another 'stable' build?) if ya have any extra time (and bandwidth) you could try the new build

I alway try and compile OpenSoure game for mac (pingus, lincity-ng, defenguin...), but because the source code for racer is not available. I had to turn to WINE

Downloaded and tried the new build from the new link you provided.
Same hardware, same result as above.

I stand for open source software too, but respecting Ruud's very own code property (and related terms and conditions) it would be nice if Racer source code is released at least for the upcoming v0.9 final in order to let native executables for Linux and Mac OS X be available as well.

It doesn't work for me either. Thanks for trying to bring Racer back to us Mac users, though.

I get Fatal error:
"DGPUShaderManager:MakeObject(standard_f.cg):
can't create CG fragment shader program..."
If needed I can add the whole error message.

I have a NVIDIA Geforce 8800 GT 512 card.
