Racer - How hard is it to edit for..more inside

greetings, i'm looking into a new game format, but i dont know whether or not this is the direction i want to head, i have loads of models,i specialise in australian muscle (hence my nick)

what are your thoughts on this game, and what is the community itself like, i'm looking for something that's not egotistical(up themselves) and will support the new guy...

what are your thoughts on this please..

I didn't think I'd be saying this when I first got into Racer, but it's actually up there with the big boys now, Forza Motorsport, Need For Speed, and the mighty Gran Turismo; in both handling and looks. There's a heck of a lot of under-the-hood mess, with shader systems, rendering things, physics settings, and so on, but now we're heading towards a cleaned-up Final Version there's never been a better time for someone to begin creating content for what is an endlessly corrigible simulation platform.

Shift _really_ pissed me off. When I first start up a game I want to go through all of the controls, graphics, audio and other options.
I want to get stuff setup BEFORE I try to actually do anything real.

But no, I was not permitted to do anything but be tossed right into a race with absolutely no idea of how my G25 was going to be handled, etc.

I hate it when devs do that; it leaves an extremely bad taste in my mouth and I want to punch the devs in the face because they are morons.

Don't agree. Felt Shift too unrealistic, unistalled full game after first race.

For a Need For Speed, Shift is awesome. You can actually use a steering wheel to play the game, and the cars feel more like cars than just stiff boxes.

Usually, it's not the devs, but the management. It's just that sometimes, people, who have no idea what is going on, are in charge...

That needs to change, break out the shotguns!

On a side note, what I do love is when the game/sim lets you do practice/test/other custom sessions right from the beginning (like in Racer, GTL, LFS, GRID, IL-2, etc). It is very helpful when setting things up and sometimes I just want to hotlap or play around with nobody else around.
