Omer Said was able to make the best possible start to the season. A good start gave him the space he needed and from then on, the victory was a fore-gone conclusion. Thomas Hackel's 2 stop strategy leapfrogged James Chant who had a slow pitstop, costing him an almost certain 2nd place.
Hiroshi Awazu and Alexander Macdonald throughout the race with the Williams driver prevailing, meanwhile there were inter-team battles between Ferrari and Lotus. Jean-Francois Godin was faster than Peter Duivelaar, meanwhile reigning constructors champions, Lotus, could only pick up 8th and 9th with Aidan Keranan and Joel Wraith not fulfilling expectations. Linus Brostrom and Garry Pullen had contact mid-race, causing them to finish 11th and 12th respectively while a mis-firing engine was the end of the race for Mohammed Abidi.
