Protests

#1 David Dominguez - Marco Conti - Sergio Casalins

Protest: Obutto Twister-Racing had 3 drivers in the race allocated and driving for this team. We consider this to be a very serious rule breach as they could any time during the race swap the drivers to other team and therefore gain an unfair advantage. Further screens can be provided on request.

Review: The GPCOS results of round 9 contain 3 drivers racing under the team Obutto Twister-Racing: Dominguez, Conti and Casalins. This directly violates General rules article 3.1. Whether or not the rule breach was accidental, it is deemed as severe, which reflects to the penalty given.

Please note: As a clarification to the rule, teams are in future expected to establish their final driver line-up before the start of the race weekend event. Any proof of teams switching line-ups in GPCOS during the race will be deemed equally as in this case. Also note that the in-game car choice is not tied to GPCOS results and has no relevance in this case.

Verdict: Constructors championship points scored by Obutto Twister-Racing from round 9 are excluded from the team's total point quota.

#2 David Dominguez - Cyril Werdmuller - Lap 1 Hangar straight

Protest: Dominguez changes his line on the straight more than once, blocks Werdmuller who then has to avoid Dominguez and loses opportunity to pass.

Review: Dominguez follows the normal racing line at the exit of Chapel (at the right hand side). Thereafter he follows a relatively straight path to the center of the track as does the cars ahead, and then commits to a defencing move to the right side. The director's subjective interpretation is that there was no obvious defensive move of Dominguez before the final right-side move, and therefore nothing illegal.

Verdict: Nothing.

#3 David Dominguez - Cyril Werdmuller - Lap 1 Stowe

Protest: Dominguez didn't acknowledge Werdmuller's attempt to overtake on outside of Stowe. Werdmuller was alongside Dominguez but had to lift to avoid an accident.

Review: Dominguez and Werdmuller enter the corner alongside, with Dominguez on the inside. Dominguez gains advantage from the inside and exits ahead of Werdmuller, who is still alongside with his nose. Werdmuller is forced to make a slight lift at the exit to avoid possible contact, due to running out of space. According to article 7.1.: When going two-wide through a bend, both drivers must give the other driver room for (a) their car (b) warping (connection lag) and (c) margin of error. This did not fullfill on the exit of the turn. However, the rule breach was marginal and no damage or loss of position took place, since Dominguez was already ahead.

Verdict: Official warning to Dominguez.

Yea it's true that the machine hosting the file submit etc. was unreachable for a while during WS and working intermittently after WS, perhaps the file submit penalties should be overlooked this time because of it.
