Race #05, Canada: Race Briefing

Discussion in 'Formula SimRacing' started by David Dominguez, Jun 2, 2012.

  1. Welcome to the fifth race of the FSR 2012 World Trophy season at Canada! You will find the password for this event by logging on GPCOS and looking at the password field which is next to the server's IP address.

Before proceeding to the event, pay attention to the following:
    • Remember to join the game with the FSR Manager software running, as described in the pre-race and post-race procedures
    • A pre-qualifying session is organized (see the schedule and listings below)
    • Due to the number of allocated drivers being >36, Grid 2 race is organized this time
Following drivers (9) have automatically gained the right to race in Grid 1. The listed drivers are NOT ALLOWED to take part in Pre-Qualifying:

Following drivers have the right to participate in Pre-Qualifying:
    Pre-qualifying Group (34):
Start from back of the grid (7):
    License Status:

The Pre-Qualifying session will be 10 minutes in length, split in two sessions. The sessions will be run in Private mode without Parc Ferme. The sessions will also be closed, this means that it will impossible for people to join while the session is running. The top 17 from Pre-Qualifying will make it in to Grid 1.

The Free Practice session will be 10 minutes in length. Every participating driver should join as soon as possible after the server opens to make sure that they don't miss the start of Qualifying and also to make sure that their game is configured & working properly.

Qualifying will be split to two sessions (10 + 5 minutes). Both sessions will run in non-private mode (all cars will be visible on track at the same time). Qualifying 1 will be run with free setup while Qualifying 2 has Parc Ferme enforced. Parc Ferme will only allow you to change your fuel load, tire compound, engine boost, engine brakemap, front wing angle, steering lock, brake balance and brake pressure after the session is over, so make sure you have your race setup loaded when entering Qualifying 2. Qualifying 2 session will be closed, this means that it will impossible for people to join while the session is running.

The Warmup session will be 10 minutes in length. You can drive freely in the Warmup session to try to get a feel for the heavier car after qualifying on low fuel.

The Race will be 53 laps long. Drive safely during the race, especially at the start and the first lap in general.

Red Flags will NOT be used unless in very specific situations which are specified in the rule documents.
  2. Important: Download the last mod files here. Simsync is not avaiable at this moment.

Why is the penalty box named as License status?
  4. The penalty box is the box above that. The box labelled License Status is the License Status box, it just shows what penalty points have been accumulated over the season for each driver - See the rule book points 2.11 - 2.17:)

  7. there will be race 2?
  8. I thought it was going to be top 20?
  9. Grid 2 race times:

Saturday, 15:30 GMT: G2 Server opens
    Saturday, 15:40 GMT: G2 Warmup
Saturday, 15:50 GMT: G2 Race Start
  10. Yes, in case that some of the top 10 guys aren't on server, some extra people can join.
  11. Will you let us know via this thread? :p
  12. I already did on the server, only Mihaljo was allowed to take part in G1 out of that top 17.
  13. What a joke, shame Petar.
  14. What the hell is going on here....

I see another ban this is a joke. I feel verry sorry for petar.
  15. Apologies about petar, Martial suffers brake failure ( and front the next lap) at the same time where petar brake earlier in the chicane. He tried to avoid him, turning right, unsuccessfully...
You deserved the race. I cannot say anything else.

Ps : Petar lost brakes 2 corners before the contact also... :/

  16. Lost force feedback in qualy and had to restart the game and couldnt set a decent time.

Made some bad decisions with the race setup and was too slow on the straights and couldnt pass (and was passed easily). Broke the car in the champions wall and whole lap without wing and after that was 1,5 sek a lap slower than in practise and just cruised to the end.

    Oh almost forgot.

Well im quite satisfied with my first race weekend as was never expecting much and was some quite encouraging race pace. See you all in Silverstone?? I think? Anyway whether it is I'll be hoping to improve on 22nd place in qualifying. XD
  18. Ah..., i'm puzzled by why did my brakes fail as i used a duct higher than in testing(in which the lower duct even lasted) and didn't have almost any dirty air...

It was into t1 of the penultimate lap i lost the fronts, Martial probably didn't realize yet I had to brake earlier... no biggie

I agree with Eduard, Mihajlo was a pain to overtake since he lagged so much, thank god I got past him :D
  20. Well, i had some problems with driver Juhani Alman, i know is good on the league, but due to him he creates train traffic, then suddenly braked more, on the last s corner run very aggressive and he damaged me, suffering this i lost my car control many times before the main straight on the finish line. Then later we had a lot of fights with Sebastiano Filosa, but on the S corner, blocked me and did a dangerous pass, after i was faster and passed him clean, and ofcourse spin me and get back on the track.
for my last back luck, i have not as big as i thought brake ducts, loosing corners and then crashing on the wall.
ps: Brljak was the totally unlucky man, cause due to brakes, lost his victory, but even with 3 wheels, managed to stay on the podium and 3rd position!!! :p
