F1 2011 Quick menu (ps3)

F1 2011 The Game (Codemasters)

New to f1 please help, I cannot access the quick menu during any race in any car not even in practice or online modes. The mappings are all set ok to the arrows of the ps3 gamepad but nothing happens when I press them out on the track. All help appreciated.
