When I saw Kennys post in another thread about implementing full damage I got excited, than I started thinking about your finnishing races threads and your no expections must finish rule... 1 warning than a ban.....how will it be handled when someone gets taken out and car ruined before they hit T1 of the opening lap ?
Are they gonna be forced to stare at the pit wall in anger for up to an hr to avoid having there racing privilages possibly removed?
Feel free to move this to finishing races thread so it doesnt clutter up this one :)

:) I am not try to make things difficult, i am just trying to find out if there will be exceptions to the rules in certain situations that can and will pop up which could lead to people getting banned.
RD has a good thing going and I enjoy racing here with you all....id just hate to lose fellow racers over situations out of there control.
I was gonna make a comment about all the extra info added to the mandatory TS for this event but I decided not too ;)
Edit: forgot to mention. I fully understand and agree with 99% of the rules, without them it would be chaos....the only one i dont agree with is the mandatory ts which I have given valid reasons why some may not use it.

Nor am I trying to make things difficult. But I would like to add if I may too @Kurupt CDN interesting points.

    Scenario.
What happens if you're involved in an incident where your car is totalled what happens to the offender that may have damage that is repairable and able to on with his race, what happens. The golden rule states basically, he is obligated to wait and give that position back within a lap. In other words how is he penalised for causing a unnecessary incident when there's no car to wait for? Maybe I should look up some thread in how league racing handles a scenario such as this. Is there different rules for league racing, championships? I would appreciate any direction on that. Would the driver for instance be penalised for the incident instead of not waiting because he's unable to, if that makes any sense.

I'm not saying by any means having damage on may cause problems, contraire I welcome it but isn't there anything between, on and off? Something to warm up to, until the full damage comes into effect.
And before anybody says it, I know it's not League racing it's Club that's allowing us to prepare for a up and coming championship which I'm sure you all appreciate, as I do. Even though I will not be taking part . I am working on it, but unlikely.

TeamSpeak don't like it never have done, great for communicating with your clan or unit, in first person shooters etc. But for a racing game situation not so much. People talking while you're trying to listen to your crew chief it's just far to distracting. I think that's why I like the little chat message, with a standard set of messages and nothing but. If I could bind a button so I can mute everybody all at once, as the lights go green, I probably would. And certainly would if the messaging system was implemented when proved to be effective.
This is not to be rude, but I'm old, cold and frail and I need all the concentration I could muster. I :poop: you not.:D

PS: As TeamSpeak is mandatory and I muted everybody during the race, would I be penalised for doing so?

I still don't understand why someone wants to mute TS during club events. In league - sure, absolutely. But in club racing where the results ultimately don't matter... sure, it can be distracting at times, but for me, it's still a big part of why the club racing is so much fun. And sure, it can be distracting, and yes, I've messed up my races because of TS - but most of the time when that happens, it's because I'm laughing at something someone said. It's just part of the experience (even if I rarely contribute to it). Giving it up would make no sense to me, even if I could perhaps sometimes be faster if I muted TS - it's not just about being fast. It just makes the club races much more fun - I'm pretty bad at Automobilista, I usually fight for the last place (if there's even fighting involved), but the banter over TS from the other (faster) guys makes it a much more enjoyable and much less frustrating experience than it would otherwise be for me.

But each to his own, I guess, it's obviously your choice.

@Calv Killmore I quite sure the rules differ between club and league and even leagues and the Raceroom GT3 league. Golden rule I think is (but not entirely sure) for club races only.
The ban and lost membership are Raceroom GT3 league only (atleast I have not seen it in any other leagues).

About TS, I don't have a faintest idea anymore if it is mandatory, where it is mandatory, and when it is mandatory. I must admit I am at a total loss at what really gives in this matter as it in most races three are a lot that never joins even if it says mandatory. I always thought if mandatory it then was for the entire event, practice, qualify and race.
I personally dont mind TS that much as long as it is free from cursing, yelling, burping, high sudden screams but if I could choose I probably wouldnt use TS and instead use my external speakers.

Mechanical damage in club events? Why?!

Mechanical damage in club events is not going to become the norm. It will only be enabled in certain club events in the run up to the league, in which it will be enabled for all four rounds. This is to allow both members and staff to get used to the system and get an idea of how it works before we "do it for real".

What happens if it's turned on in a club event, and my car gets too damaged to continue?

If your car is too damaged to continue racing, then you may retire. This means you may also leave the server before the race has finished without penalty. However, if the damage is minor then you really should try and finish the race... it is league practice after all, and in the league quitting unnecessarily is still likely to be frowned upon.

What happens to someone who disadvantages me, and causes me to crash and total my car?

The Golden Rule is still in affect for these events. However, if you are unable to continue after an incident, then the normal rules also still apply. If you are unable to resolve the incident by talking to the other driver, you can file an incident report with me and Kenny for review by the stewards.

Why is TeamSpeak mandatory for "Special Events"?

Because I said so. :) Seriously though, it is mandatory because it can and will play a large part in certain events. Given that we know many people don't read the event threads properly, it will sometimes be necessary in order for me to explain any special rules or circumstances for an event. It may also be necessary that drivers communicate with each other throughout an event, or for them to receive constant real-time updates from staff. While this will not always be the case, it is simpler for all concerned for TS to be mandatory for ALL special events, rather than me having to waste 20 minutes nagging people to join when particular events start.

Can I mute TeamSpeak in special events?

It depends. You must always have TS active in any practice sessions. Even if you have no microphone, you must be able to hear what is going on. If the event is a normal race with no particular need for direct communication, then you may mute TS for both the qualifying and race sessions. Otherwise, it should be unmuted throughout. Bear in mind that the social aspect is going to be a big part of the special events, and you can't socialise in silence.

But I hate TS and refuse to have it active at any time!

Then don't join the special events. I'm sorry, but just as with any of our other events, if you're not happy with the rules that govern them then simply don't take part.

    No.
As for TS it makes our life easier when we have an instant way of alerting drivers or giving out our pearls of wisdom:rolleyes:.
But during qually and race, muting is up to the individual's choice, as long as they remain connected.
