Welcome to RaceDepartment's Racing Club for Project CARS! Project CARS can be played on various platforms: PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and we'd like to facilitate and encourage our members to post challenging casual events for members by members.

Platform Prefixes
We now use Prefixes (which you will be required to select when creating a new race (thread).

Setting up a race
First of all start with a plan. Post a thread not at the final moment before you want to race but open it a couple of days in advance. Official RD events are always scheduled a week in advance for the highest change on success.

Secondly order your threads properly and try to make it as simple as possible. Not everybody wants to read a wall of text with requirements. Keep it simple, easy and friend.

Contents of a racing club thread
  • Select a prefix for your platform of choice.
  • Thread Title: Car Class @ Track - Date
  • Thread Content: Use the template that will be posted soon.
Good luck and have tons of fun racing and we hope to see you on track soon!

Oh and to get you in the right mindset for tonight

I'm intrigued to see how this goes. I'm of the opinion pCARS isn't league ready yet, but I'm always happy to be proven wrong. :)

Shame I can't participate, would have been OK to wake up for this as I love WEC races, but the region lock on server listings means I'd have to change my Steam region to even see the RD server, similar to how the F1 games handled online lobbies. This basically makes the RD servers for European players only, probably to hide the issues this game has with high ping players. :(

I absolutely share that opinion. Lot of work to be done still by SMS
  • Possibility to setup the dedicated servers with a GUI from the server itself and not this P2P-deluxe they are now offering
  • Netcode stability
  • Missing driver swaps (will rule out any races longer than 2 hours as it is now)
  • Proper spectator mode
  • And too silly many small bugs to mention. Unbelievable that 80,000 testers didn't spot these to be honest. If they have, shame on SMS for not addressing them as there are quite a few showstoppers that shouldn't be in a gold release.
But thankfully we have the casual racing club running and this game totally fits that :)

Practice starts at 18:00 GMT and the NL is located in GMT+2 so in your (and my) timezone the practice starts at 20:00 central european time@Rivanov

Teamspeak is advised, even just in listening mode its always handy to hear latest instructions and maybe changes in case things don't work out.

But we'll use the chat in game as well if needed.

Like I posted it works perfectly fine for people on the other side of the ocean. You can't find a server that is currently not running though;) Tonight it will be up, running and reachable, don't worry :)

I'm located in Australia so I'm more like 3 oceans away rather than 1, but hopefully you are right. :)

Considering I'm not busy until tomorrow afternoon my time, sign me in with the final spot. I can be the high ping test player or something like that. :)

Of course if I warp very badly during practice due to my ping I'm happy to give up my spot to a reserve, as anyone can join during a practice session with pCARS yeah?
