All Star V8 Cup

A European Nascar-championship, named All Star V8 Cup, will start it's first season in June 2008. Teammanager Jean-Rémy Tramelli confirmed the news. The professional championship has a minimum of 26 participating cars, and has the ambition to have a large amount of spectators at the 13 different circuits.

Rally pilots Luc Alphand and Hubert Auriol, and former F1 drivers Olivier Panis and Patrick Tambay will be the most important participaters in the new championship.

The cars, which can be bought or rented, whoich all have a 585cc V8 engine build by Chevrolet, can reach maximum speeds of 330km/h. The bodies are developed by Chevrolet, Doge or Ford. The races, which are like the American model, excist of 2 practise sessions on Saturday, 2 races (50 laps) on Sunday morning and a Final round (65 laps) on Sunday afternoon.

8-9 Novembre: Rockingham (GB)
22-23 Novembre: Lauzitsring (D)

I don't like that "same engine" rule. Stock cars have to be different, except of course clio, yaris or mini cups.
