Not played gsce for a while till today....

WOW! Why have I stayed away for the last month? Been playing rf2 and loving it, then rre since the update and loving that expecially the ai update. But the ai ability to brake better has annoyed me. Booted up gsce today with the flat 6 mod.... Holy cow it was awesome. The ai is fantastic... The cars feel fantastic.... Road America was awesome. Everything felt so good and it felt alive. Just brilliant.

And now I have to go to work.......

@kamackeris , the problem is there's plenty out there but very few are any good. I tried loads for rF an SCE all uninstall now, I mostly stick to default content now. I wanted to set up a club night for just mods but so many were rips badly done, an gave up. So my advice do your home work read up on the mod first reviews an YouTube ect, just like any other product.
Only the good one's will be talked about.

Im very fussy with mods. I dont get why people praise the likes for Rf2 physics when they use crappy inaccurate, mods which makes it all pretty redundant - and tracks so to speak. But then with rf2 content i cant blame them either..

I would stick to pats porsche and ferrari mod untill reizas porsche. I think theres enough car sin gsc to keep everyone happy.

I gave GSCE's multiplayer another go yesterday and i was surprised.
There was a server running V8s and it was fairly well populated (10+ drivers).
Of course no matter the sim, most people can't race, so i ended up with a burning car, but overall it was very awesome seeing an active server!

rFactor sims seem to lack some publicity, or they have the "bad" reputation of being hardcore sims.

So it's no real surprise.
(Of course all data is Steam only, but i think it's still representative - except for iRacing, that has lots more non Steam users)

mainstream graphics, mainstream physics, mainstream cars = people
Hope Reiza get the mainstream graphics and cars for their next game, the physics can remain good lol

GSCE (or next title) definitely needs a graphics overhaul.

HD UI and a little bit extra punch in the racing graphics department.
Please no lensflare, DoF, cinematic contrast or other stupid stuff that shouldn't be in a racing sim (keep that to racing games and DICE's FPS games) just upgraded shaders + textures + shadows.

Looking better will definitely help it getting more coverage.
Assetto Corsa and Project Cars are only known for their graphics.
I'm sure at least 1700 of those 2000 Project Cars drivers don't use a wheel on pro settings (or whatever the highest difficulty is called in pC)

I think if Reiza killed GSCE Sync and distributed through Steam only, like pCars, AC and R3E, you'd see a truer picture of the community. SCE probably has the highest % of users not on Steam b/c they have the option. My league in R2P has a bunch of rFactor guys, and a ton don't even use Steam, they view it with suspicion, don't know why. If we could convert every rF guy to SCE it would be a big step.

Is this on good authority? Many in my league went with Sync due to distrust of Steam, I'd like to tell those yet to purchase to go straight to Steam and skip any possible aggravation. (Although, I recommend Steam anyway BECAUSE its been relatively smooth.)

all this talk today of the new title made me play this again after a few days away with rf2 flat6...i have got to say this game continues to wow me. had some awesome battles with the ai at hockenheim and mid ohio with the brazilian stock cars...truly awesome racing. to me it conveys actual racing better than rf2. i find the ai seems more human to me
